I bought 2 of these mice and they broke in a week. They both just stopped working: on separate computer systems. They are very cheap in price, but you will regret the purchase if they are all like the two I bought. I will stick with my logitech equipment from now on: lesson learned.

The mouse worked great...for a short period of time. It then stopped responding at all. I replaced the batteries and tried it on a different computer. It's just dead. Go with Logitech, Microsoft or about any other brand of mouse. You will be better off in the long run.

Bought this as a replacement laptop mouse from Microsoft. Sides have textured silicone cover so it helps with grip. The USB connector is tiny and very discreet, and is easily hidden right into the mouse itself when traveling. Mouse itself has scalable dpi, which is great since changing mouse speed otherwise involves a series of clicks in window settings. it powers itself off when not being used. When you need to use it, just click the mouse and it will wake back up.

HERE IS A BIG CAUTION!

To put batteries in the mouse, you have to make sure the plastic strip is underneathe the batteries. The reason is that's how you will pull the batteries out when replacing them. In most electronics, our first instinct is to remove any paper or plastic strip upon opening the battery compartment. DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC STRIP INSIDE THE BATTERY COVER. Otherwise your mouse will be broken.

So, with that said, this mouse is cheap, has a great hand feel, and several welcomed options for user convenience.

--Update 10-05-2011--

Apparently this mouse has a very high defect rate. While the one I used for this review was perfectly fine, I tried to buy another and experienced a lot of problems. I ended up purchasing and returning this mouse four times because all of them were defective. The problem was that when the batteries are put inside the mouse, it lights up very briefly and then shuts off completely. All four mouses (mice?) had the same problem, which leads me to believe that it was a manufacturing problem since the packaging was not damaged at all.

So, if you happen to get one that works, then it's well worth the price. But given how high the defect rate appears to be, I have to advise people to stay away.

Same as the other two reviewers. This one broke within a month of gentle use. The reviewer who mentioned it breaking after a battery change may be correct. Don't buy it!
