This is a good buy considering the mower instruction manual suggests you "service" the muffler after so many hours of use. Mine was already black around the exhaust holes so I imagined it was well past it's intended use. Changing the muffler is easy, just unscrewed the old and screw on the new one. The old one was tight however, but nothing a little elbow grease and WD40 couldn't handle.

My muffler rusted and fell off. If you think a lawn mower is loud have the muffler come off. This part simple twist on and works great actually quieter than when original was on. I did have to get needle nose pliers to remove the old muffler part that twist on to install new muffler.

This muffler looks great. I have no idea if it works, as I'm still trying to remove the screw in part from the old muffler. It's been weeks. In the meantime I purchased some Snug ear protectors so I can mow without going deaf. If anyone knows how to remove the old one, some advice would be appreciated.

It looks exactly like the old one, so I assume it will work as well. If it doesn't, I'll be back to report.

The sound of a mower can have different noises. A damage muffler can have an ugly sound. If it is damaged, a new muffler is needed. A better sounding mower, is better on the ear. Replacing it is just a twist away. Make the mower feel good with a younger sounds by replacing the muffler.

Bought this muffler from Amazon for my 5.0 horsepower Bolens mower after the original unit had worn out. Checked several stores in my town and couldn't find it for sale anywhere. On a hunch I turned to Amazon...My hunch paid off. This muffler fits my mower perfectly, although it does seem slightly noisier than the original. But only slightly. I'd buy another one without hesitation!
