This is a good, old-fashioned style telephone wall mount jack. I prefer these to the newer plastic style ones with the screw-in pins. This one is just like the old ones you used to get from the phone company years ago.

The pegs on these Levition plates are too large to fit into the stamped metal slots on the Western Electric 554 Style modular phones. We tried to use these plates on a 1982 Western Electric 554 and on a 1999 Cortelco 8900 (A red No-Dial version of the basic Western Electric 554 design), and neither of them did the phones fit securely on them, as the pegs wouldn't go all the way in. The wall plates sold under the GE brand work perfectly with these phones. They might work well with the wall phones that have keyhole slots for mounting, but not on the traditional modular wall telephone designs, like the 2554 models.

I order this wall mount to hook telephone to the wall, this NEC (DSX series phones) phones have a space in the back to slide this hooks and hang the phones.
I install the Leviton wall mount and when I tried to hook the phones this ones didn't fit, I tried hard adn pull down and the pins who suppose to be inside the holes in the back of the phone never got in. I had to remove some plastic from this holes to tried to fit the phone and didn't work.
I went to radioshack and I purchased 3 telephone wallplate mount and this ones have an adjustable pin so that help to install any phone.
The pins the Leviton plate have are fix.
I paid money for nothing, so if you have a NEC phone systems and you plan to hook it to a wallplate, don't use this levinton wallplate, go to the local radio shack.

My wife and I recently remodeled our kitchen, replacing old,dated fixtures, and installed new cabinets. So when we chose brushed nickel pendant lights for our island, brushed cabinet knobs and pulls, and all new stainless appliances, we naturally decided to update all of the wall plates as well. It's nice to have everything match.

Leviton makes a very nice quality product. Very solid, and they look really nice. What is really great is that they have quite a variety of wall plates, for every conceivable need. This review is for a phone jack plate, but we bought many different ones, and they all match.

I think they are a little expensive (minus half a star) for what you get, especially in comparison to a simple plastic one, but they really finish off the kitchen, and I don't regret spending the money on them. You do get what you pay for. If you are looking for a way to make your plugs look a little nicer, consider these.

They do attract fingerprints, but that is to be expected for brushed metal finishes. Just need to wipe off now and then (minus half a star).

I know, it's just a phone wall mount, how could it be that bad? Well I got 5 of your boring standard 20-40 buck landline table phones with keyhole mounts in back bought from 1995-2013 including recent Clarity phone and not one mounts on this plate.

Problem is metal posts are too wide. Based on my experience and many other reviewers, they are too wide for the majority of phones sold. Can make it work by very carefully trimming keyhole with razor blade, as I did, but I'd advise just skipping anything from this company. More Keveching elaboration in comments under francisco, for those of you unemployed, or just overcome by the heat.

On a side note, you need a 3" piece of wire with jack on each end to go between wall plate and base of phone, but leviton opted to save the nickel and make you make your own. The old wall plates used to include this, as you would expect.

I used to work for Ma Bell, and from what I remember, this is just like those made by Western Electric. I researched many alternatives and I very happy that I settled on this one. Heavy gauge stainless steel cover and secure screw connectors. I works great with my Trimline phone.
