I bought It to replace my Squier II's bridge, It has improved the resonance and sustain, the item was described as "Mexi" so I thought It was made in Mexico, but It's made in Taiwan... Anyway It's a genuine Fender part and now with a few dollars my guitar sounds better.

This is a great upgrade for any full thickness Squier strats. On Affinity and Bullet models, the trem block will stick out the back and prevent you from attaching the rear cover.

This item comes with the BRIDGE, SADDLES, and BLOCK. No trem arm or mounting screws.I installed this on a cheap Fender Starcaster and also checked fitment on an old made-in-Mexico Squier Stratocaster. It worked great on both. This bridge assembly is significantly heavier and feels a lot more solid. The trem block is almost twice as thick.

If this item fits your guitar, it is a worthwhile upgrade. One thing to note is the block is not solid steel - it's some type of zinc metal. I'm very happy with it but if you want top of the line, look for a solid steel block.

You can mess around swapping parts, pickups, and capacitors. But the biggest change I've experienced is with the tone block change. The Mexi Tremolo bolted right in to all my Strats and even my MIK Squier. It went from thin and tinny, to being a real tone monster, with superb sustain. The combination of the mass of the tone block, and flat steel saddles, has given me the exact sound i was looking for. Couldn't be happier.

As a person who's been playing for over 30 years and has an even dozen Strats currently in the arsenal, I can say this is a decent product for the money. As others have suggested, the saddles alone are worth the price and the bridge plate and the quality of the chrome plating are decent as well. If I have any niggle at all, it's the block.

Ok, let me say here that it -IS- a definite improvement over the blocks that came on the Mexican Strats in the 90's and early 00's...that same half-sized block that comes on many Squiers. If your Strat currently has one of these, you will notice an immediate improvement in tone and sustain. Like others have said, I too feel that next to pickups, upgrading a Strat trem is probably the best investment you can make in your axe. Aside from the block obviously being heavier, the bridge plate itself is also thicker and the saddles and screws are very high quality...all of this contributes to better tone and better sustain. That said however, this just isn't a steel block either. If you're looking for truly significant upgrade to your Strat, along with this bridge, you may wish to spend the extra $20 to get a GFS steel block, if not an extra $70 for a Callaham (still not sure what they do differently other than "cold rolled steel" but the Callaham blocks ARE worth every penny!). That said, while I haven't tried one of these bridges with a Callaham yet (beyond the stock bridge on my '96), I do have two of these bridges with the GFS blocks...they bolted right up without any problem. The heavier zinc blocks make pretty decent paper weights :-)

While somewhat subjective, I will also say that these make wonderful replacements for older Mexican Strats as well. Ok...I'll admit it...

Received the bridge in a timely fashion. It is a nice new bridge and the saddles are worth the $ alone. But don't expect a steel tone block. It is in fact made of a zinc alloy more commonly known as potmetal. A good value nonetheless. You can pu a brass or steel toneblock for this bridge from guitar fetish for about 20- 25 bucks. And then you're set. Still cheaper than the others equipped w steel blocks. Hope this was helpful!

I purchased two of these from Ant Hill Music. Both of them were received with noticeable damage to the chrome base plate. Luckily, I was able to scavenge the block (which is the main part) and saddles to use on my 1996 MIM Squier Strat by using the plate that came on the guitar. I won't be able to use the other one because I don't have another plate. It was going to be on a project guitar I am building. We all know the hassle in returning inexpensive products. The shipping charges alone make the return pointless. I'll probably list the parts separately on an auction site to see if I can get some of my money back off of it.

I doubt that my luck is bad enough to get two damaged units in a row. I'm assuming that Ant Hill is selling Fender factory rejects without disclosing it. I'm not sure where all of the other positive reviews are getting their product, but I'm not happy on my end.

FWIW, the block I scavenged was well worth the price of the assembly. The improvement in sound is astounding. I just wish the whole product had been in new condition as expected.

This is a great replacement part!
Took me about 30 min from un-string guitar to re-string after install!
It is abot 1/4 inch deeper than a stock squire strat bridge... so back cover can be installed if you dont mind a minor bulge
Doesnt effect vibrato that i can tell.
All so it can say fender on the saddles!
Much beefier tone block than stock too
