I read so many reviews on solar covers before I made a decision to buy this one. At first I was intimidated by the size of it. My pool is an Intex 18x18 Ultra frame. However, it went on quickly, after I got the method that works best for me, which is to pull it off after I have rolled it up kind of tightly and then when I put it back on, I just unroll it and push it as I go. I stand in one spot and can get it back on in less than one minute. I do cover the pool back up right when we are done to make sure it is holding the temps of the water in.

I have the pool on a silver tarp, which catches heat really well and projects it towards the sides of the pool, which I think helps. I had this cover on and the pool did heat up, like other reviewers said, only the first several inches on top and then the rest of the pool was full of cold spots. After swimming around the pool would be between 72-76 degrees. I had to change my filter and messed with the filter timer and turned it on earlier in the day, around 10am, whereas before, it was running at night. This made ALL the difference in the world. The pool is now a constant 80 degrees and not one cold spot. I had been waiting for it to 'heat' up before and now I can get in earlier in the morning.

We live in the mountains in Oregon and for the last two days it has been cloudy and we had our first rain today in more than a month, zero sun and the temp outside was 68 degrees at 4pm and the pool was at 79 degrees. I don't use any other cover on the pool, so the top does collect some tree bits, which I end up skimming. The cover does fit all the way edge to edge and I didn't trim it, it didn't seem worth the hassle and it is doing its job.

I was hesitant because of the mil, thinking I wasn't getting a thick enough one, but after having to put it on and take it off, I wouldn't want to fool with anything else heavier. I would purchase this again and hope it lasts more than one season.

I'm very happy with this product. It's amazing what a difference it makes in the water temperature, and so much less hassle to take on and off than the drawstring cover that came with our pool. One person can do both easily. It won't keep the pool quite as pristine as a cover that secures across the top -- some bugs and debris can get in along the edges -- but I expected that and it's a fair tradeoff for the convenience. It seems very durable so far and is holding up well to saltwater.

works fantastic.if you run skimmer while it is on(pump) it will heat all of the water evenly if you don't only the top couple inches will be warm works GREAT.

We use the 8 mil. as it heats the pool and is easy to pull off and on. Neighbor had a 12 mil. that did not heat any better and was so heavy to pull on and off. We replace the cover every 3 years, and this price was certainly a cost savings compared to the pool supply stores.

Easily added 10 degrees to the pool, maybe more. I spent last year building solar heaters, copper tube thru a fire pit, 400 ft of black garden hose hanging on a fence. What a hasstle and expensive. The pool cover dummy... Easy on n off and no more blue lips on my 5 yr old.... Well... We still get blue lips but now it takes 45 mins rather than 10 or 15. Me and mom stay in for hours. Our pool hangs around 80 to 85 deg all summer and recovers quickly after added 45 deg well water, also helps with evaporation and salt water chlorine generation. Best buy of the summer

A great product, does exactly what it claims. I was able to continue to use my pool a month after I normally close it but eventually the night time chill killed any benefit from using this. In the summer months this made a VERY clear difference in the heat of the pool on the surface, but did not penetrate all the way into the bottom of the pool and my pool really isn't that deep.

One thing that I didn't really think of when I bought it, you have to take it out and put it somewhere while you use the pool. I know that sounds like a no brainer, but the part that doesn't go through your mind is where on earth you will put this thing. If you lack a large non-grassy area then you will likely need a good pump to pull out the grass after use. Even with good rinsing before putting it back in the pool, you will still get some junk in your pool.

Another good side effect of using this product is it helps keep debris out of your pool (except the edges) while it floats away in there. Provided you can pull it out without dropping the junk back in, this saves a lot of skimming before using your pool and cuts the vacuuming time down a lot too. just remember to rinse before reinserting to minimize what you put in after your swim :)

I bought this to cover the pool we got last year. The cover that came with the pool only lasted 1 week then it ripped.We get very strong winds here in Colorado so I was expecting to have to get it out of our neighbors tree the very next day due to 50-60 mile winds,However it stayed on the pool!!!
