I have been using husky bags for years. This specific style does the job considering the thickness of each bag is a full 1 mil. That is what makes a bag hold up. The thickness. Most average bags are all under 1 mil. And on average .85 mil. Look good before you buy trash bags for the thickness. Husky even makes contractor bags that are 3 mil. You can barely cut one with a knife much less rip it. Remember it is not so much the brand as the mil. thickness.

And the reason I only give these 3 stars is the price. I can purchase these locally at my hardware, and home improvement stores for half the price. On sale they are even cheaper. I have also picked these up from Walmart over on the back walls high up on shelf near the aquarium and fish supplies. They are not located in the normal trash bag section

ya know... it's hard to sing the praises of a plastic bag... BUT! my city does not allow dark plastic bags for trash pick up. the local stores DO NOT carry 55 gallon clear bags. harumph! husky and amazon to the rescue with huskys 55 gallon drum liners. reasonably priced, sturdy enough for yard waste, and they do the job! nothing fancy, just a great big clear plastic bag that the city trucks will pick up that comes in a pretty convenient dispenser package. the local "big box' stores have said they "will not" carry large clear bags because they "don't sell well." idiots! voting with my credit card... i buy more and more of my necessaries here at amazon!

ps try to not wait until the last bag is used to order more. it does a little bit of time to order more. think ahead!

Over the years, we used these large, clear 55 gal plastic bages to store our grandchildrens' crib (disassembled) and matress. Two bags (one over the top and one over the bottom) makes an almost airtight seal keeping out dust and dirt. Other uses have been a clothes carrier and lawn and leaf bag. Cut a small hole top center, slip it over some clothes on hangers and lay it flat in the trunk (not crumpled in a suitcase). It looks almost like it came from the dry cleaner when we take it into a hotel. It's also great for storing folded clothes. Use it to line an outdoor trash can to hold grass, leaves and cut up tree branches. The clear finish lets you see exactly what's inside (no labeling required). We used to buy these bags at Home Depot, but Home Depot and other stores do not carry them anymore. It seems that Husky merged or was bought out by another company and the "clear" bags are no longer available. We were foutunate to find them at Poly-America at Amazon. They were very well packaged, qualified for free shipping and arrived ahead of schedule.

With tons of wrapping paper, I found the best place for them and after three months, I just ran out. In searching the web I found them, made a quick purchase and even wrote my first review. I actually bought these to protect custom wheels from storage dust (and my dog's continuous need to claim my property as his own...) while storing vehicles. Served the purpose. For anyone with this idea, they'll fit up to about a 28" tire. The bags are thicker than a normal trash bag, but not overly heavy duty. I'd say they are best for keeping a drum clean, rather than transporting heavy materials. I bet they would be perfect for leaves.
