I just wanted to clarify for prospective customers that this is a great value pack, especially for those who need it to use as place markers for books and such. However, before buying this, know this - the Value pack that Amazon ships you is not 280 page flags plus 48 arrows, BUT instead 200 page flags plus 48 arrows. I have notified and asked Amazon for a replacement and they still shipped me the wrong product, which means they don't have the product advertised. If you're okay with this, then it shouldn't be much of a hassle for you.

UPDATE (as of March 2012):
The product shipped is now 280 page flags plus 48 arrows.

These flags are useful for a variety of marking tasks, such as indicating important passages or places you want to copy. The flags apply easily and remove easily, just like regular Post-It Notes. I have left these flags on for a long period of time, perhaps as long as a year, and have seen no effect on the paper marked.

There are two difficulties with these flags. First, there are only four colors and if you need to do something like a term paper or other similar research where you need more than four categories, you have to add a designator to your flags. I have made a cross reference and indicated A on blue = Topic #1, B on yellow = Topic #2, C on red indicates Topic #3, etc. The other difficulty is that there is little room to write on these flags, so they are more useful for indicating than writing. I have also used regular Post-It notes as flags when I need to make a note about a particular passage.

These flags are also useful if you want to mark other things, such as unread books on the shelf, the location of various types of recipes, or to remind yourself that there is an item to be taken care of (such as flagging a tool that needs returned to the garage toolbox). You are limited only by your imagination.

I have one set of these flags available because even though I use them only occasionally they are very handy to have when I do need them. 3M also makes a variety of other flags and though I would probably use them from time to time, I have found that these flags and regular Post-It notes handle most of my routine needs.

I love these little sticky flags! I'm an English major and avid reader and I hate writing on books! Enter these awesome little guys! I use them to mark pages, passages, and things I want to come back to later. They're transparent which makes it easy to read text underneath the sticky--a true godsend to us page-markers.

I just got my Post-it Flags pack in the mail and have used it already. I'm a book marker. When I come to a passage or a paragraph that I want to get back to I mark it with a highlighter or a post-it note. These post-its are the regular kind and also contain arrow markers which I like. Sometimes, I do not want to mark my books permanently and post-its are the way to go. In any case, if you're a book marker like me, I highly recommend this set of post-it notes.

After not attending school for a number of years and then going back as an adult, while working full time was no picnic. It was fun, but my synapses had seriously atrophied from years of not studying and cramming for tests. I needed a system for studying a new foreign language and along with notecards and late nights of studying, I used these flags like crazy! I color coded different sections for quick reference. Unlike ripped off pieces of paper that accidentally float out of your book and/or notebook, these puppies stay put, but you can remove them and they don't damage your book.

I purchased this package for a project I'm working on called the Child Training Bible. It's a method of teaching your child what the Bible says about certain things, such as anger or disappointment, by highlighting verses in a specific color and marking the page with a coordinating color of post-it flag. This value package is exactly what I needed to do this, and the price was significantly less than at my local big box store.

I like the variety of colors; this is one of the things that led me to this particular value pack as opposed to just multiples of the regular flag packs. With this pack you get not just the typical red, blue, yellow, and green, but you also get pink, teal, purple, and another yellow. If the second yellow had been orange, it would have been the perfect thing!

Overall this is a great value. These little post it flags are so useful anyway. I use them to mark where we are in our homeschool books, where I am at in my current giant puzzle book, where my husband needs to sign something or read something; seriously, the list goes on and on.

Recommended both for value and utility.

These flags are great for bookmarking. They stay put yet remove easily and can be re-positioned without losing their stickiness. The flag ends are pretty small at 1/2" square but there's enough room to jot down a letter, number, or short word on them and they're big enough to spot sticking out of books easily. They're perfect for marking my favorite recipes and recipes I'd like to try in my cookbooks and I really like the bright color assortment. Overall I'm very happy with this product.
