if u have never used these with a fly 36 inches behind the bubble filled with water - your missing some good action. I use a snap swivel with the bubble above it (snap swivel stops the bubble/bobber) and 36 inch leader with a wooley bugger - you cast and reel slow as you can (sometimes twitch) after it hits water (if fish are rising) to check top water. Then you can fan cast 180 degrees waiting a little bit longer (drops at 4 inch per second - so 4 seconds = 16 inches if its slow now water movement) and reel as slow as you can, fan cast 180 degrees waiting 2 times as long.
I have caught bass, crappie, all trout (except wild), lake perch, skipjack, black drum, sauger - select size of fly (doesn't have tp be wooley bugger but definitely a streamer - oh yeah with larger clauser I have caught stripers and you can fish the surf with a perch fly or small imitation crab for corbina, surf perch, yellow fin croaker, guitar fish and sharks. I did catch sea trout with a fly bubble in Pensacola Florida.

I was trout fishing last year and I saw someone using this product. I was not sure where to get them so of course I went to Amazon.

The product itself is high quality and seems to be very strong for it's purpose. Once filled with water it does not leak even after casting over and over for hours on end (I have even put colored water in it to see if water can enter or leave).

It is amazing how far you can cast even with the water filled only half the way up.

I use these for trout fishing, I use it so I can use a fly on a reel rod or I use a double hook with Power Bait.

I highly recommend this product!

I love to use these for fly fishing. I tie a 4 foot leader below the float. A swivel tied to the leader will keep the float at the 4 foot mark. The weight of the float helps with casting. Then, with a slow retrieve, I can mimic a fly on the surface or just below the surface. If you don't have a fly outfit, try the technique I just explained.

The center post of these floats / bobbers does move, allowing you to fill with water or small split shot to add weight. Once your weight is added, simply press the post firmly back into place and you're ready to cast.

The clear plastic also seems to have a favorable effect of not spooking fish quite as much as a colored float. Supposedly the clear / lack of color appears as an air bubble I've read...

Be sure to pick up a package of bobber stops and beads at the same time as these are slip-style floats with nothing to attach them in position on your line natively!

These are crap. The glue or whatever they use to put the 2 halves together doesn't hold, because 1 of them was separated in the bag. The stick thing in the middle does not create a tight seal so water will seep in causing the float to sink. If you try to shove the stick in more to create a better seal the whole float cracks and it's useless. Only used 2 of them, and each one only last maybe 2 cast. The other 10 went in the garbage.

This is a remarkable tool for obtaining longer cast. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this as I thought it would interfere with setting the hook when using a trout rig. This has not been the case and I have been able to successfully increase the distance when using my less efficient spinning reels quite a bit. They are easy to use, easy to store and have increased the productivity of my fishing days.

Quality casting bubble, edges around line hole are smooth, no sharp edges means less likely to cut monofilament,When pin is pushed in it is a air tight seal, or will hold water for casting without leaking for setting buoyancy. Packaged in zip lock labeled bag. These types of casting floats can crush easy,seams on these at center are sound and de-burred well.
Overall great quality and design.

Some floats were defective - seems that someone intentionally packaged damaged floats. As some floats were missing tubes.

Would have send it back but needed floats for the trip :(. Tossed the damaged ones and kept the rest.

I am sure that some people will get floats that are not damaged, but was not my experience.
