I've been using WD-40 as long as I can remember. It's great for so many things that it would be impossible to list them all. While I've always used their spray cans, this is the first time I've tried WD-40 in a pump bottle.

It's nice to be able to dispense the right amount with a few quick pumps, and the adjustable nozzle lets me use either a coarse or fine spray and allows me to block the spray port too. This large bottle should last me years!

WD-40 is an extremely well-known product, revered for its rust penetrating and lubricating capabilities. It can also be used to remove label adhesive!

The news here, though, is that this is a non-aerosol dispenser. I don’t know if there are work environments where aerosols are prohibited or if this is a gimmick to please the climate change crowd. The non-aerosol approach taken here allows for more flexibility. You can vary the intensity of the spray by the pressure you apply to the pump trigger which is a very welcome feature. No more full-last or nothing.

The nozzle can be twisted to control the spray pattern somewhat, which is also an advantage.

Finally, you can dispose of the non-refillable container without special handling.

The economics of this container however are not good.

You can buy WD-40 in 1-gallon containers and disperse it in plastic spray bottles at far lower per ounce costs. But, obviously, you’d need to have a requirement for a lot of WD-40, otherwise it becomes a false economy.

So in reality, the non-aerosol, non-refillable container offers the advantages of controllable spray pressure and spray pattern. For the average householder, it’s a good deal.

Ok, this product has been around forever and I have used it forever. Still, I could not resist ordering it because it was the first non-aerosol version that I had ever seen. Here is what I found:

1. Yup, this is still the same WD-40 product that I have used forever. Does a great job of loosening rusted bolts, providing light lubrication for door locks, eliminates squeaks from hinges, in short, does everything it has always done.

2. So, what about the pump spray? That, works like a champ!! One of the things that I have hated about WD-40 was the aerosol cans it came in. because it is hard to use tons of the product, the cans would loose gas pressure and leave you with a half full can of spray that would NOT spray. Well, this package eliminates that problem! Now it will be available when you need it without the worry about "did it loose gas pressure"?

3. What I do NOT like about this product is the fact that the can is NOT re-usable!!!

Not being refillable is just a crime in this day and age. Why would you product something like this to have to throw it away (good luck recycling anything that has had a petroleum product in it)? After all, the company does sell gallon cans of the stuff, perfect for reloading a sprayer like this! I cannot imagine what was going through their heads when they made this decision. It would have boosted sales of the large size cans to refill this one with. For people who do not want to take that trouble, they would have still continued to buy more cans of this spray. That would be a win all around.

I personally, will not buy this version and will instead stick to the gallon cans and using my old oiler cans to dispense it with.

WD-40 is an excellent product. i have lived in homes that were equipped with this product for my entire life. It has become a standard to suggest using WD-40 on almost all problems and issues. So, there seems no reason to continue a laudatory product review. WD-40 is great stuff, pretty much everyone knows that .

This review is focusing on the new can and spray delivery-style. The can is very large, and will surely hold enough product to last a long time in our house. It is nice and ecologically responsible that this is a pump-spray can, and not an ozone destroying spray can. The pump is easy to use, and delivers the product where you want it to be distributed. However, this type of bottle does not come equipped with the narrow plastic tube, which was so convenient for allowing one to precisely direct the spray to the area desired. There is also no way to use the red tube fom a different style can of WD-40 on this particular container.

There are two modes of spray possible with this particular can, a wider spray, and a more narrow spray. I prefer this pump-spray to the aerosol in some areas, as it is easier to direct the spray, and the pump-spray is much more responsive than that of the aerosol spray can. However, I would not recommend relying purely upon this style of can. There will be times when one needs the option of the narrow tube in order to direct the spray into a tiny, and hard to reach area. This can, plus a small aerosol can is a good suggestion.

The price of this product must be mentioned in any review. It is quite expensive, and as so many others have mentioned, is not refillable. We're this to be the same model can, but with a refillable option, I would give this 5+ stars.Read more ›
