I bought this line for the shower valve trims looks. The diverter valve trim is not as large as I would have liked. The escutcheon is 3 inches, a little bigger would have been better to allow for easier tiling. When you tile to the valve for this unit, make sure you go right up to the plastic guard that comes with the valve or it will not look properly finished. Over all works well although has no "stops" for water direction.

This is a real diverter kit, unlike the type that fits onto the shower head neck piece. If you are redoing your in-wall shower plumbing, this type of valve is so much better and easier to use. This American Standard kit is of excellent quality. I teamed it up with the matching on/off valve and with a temperature control valve accessible from the adjacent closet. A very clean and rich look. I installed the diverter an on/off vales a little off center so when I turn it on, the water drops outside my body line. Get a high quality hand held trim set to complete the overall rich appearance.
