The Nut & bolt Thread Checker is just what I wanted and necessary.
I like my hardware sorted nicely in drawers. It saves a lot of time that way.
The Thread Checker is missing a couple of sizes... Inch #6-40, Inch 5/16-24 and Metric M3x.5 but did not view this as a show stopper.
Still pleased with it, and compared to spending the money for separate Inch & Separate Metric checkers, this was definitely the way to go.
The missing sizes are not the most standard, and not that big a deal.
As far as quality...on mine there is one checker that has heavier tooling marks on the outside of it, but that does not touch or affect the the internal or external threads. As a matter of fact, Most people would probably not even notice it.
The Inch are Zink coated and the Metric are a Black Oxide finish.
All are Clearly Stamped with the size, and stand out painted in an easy to read color.
As far as my Order experience...It came in a suitable time and there were no problems.
My Recommendation...I would buy this again knowing what I know now.
Happy Checking.

To upgrade it, I have a few ideas:
1) get the expensive thread checker board, cut the cable and screw these into it so they can be removed for easy checking of studs and threaded sockets on fixed locations like on cars and machinery.
2) accumulate one bolt and / or one nut of each size, and screw each onto the thread checker so you can test on fixed hardware while still having the chain to keep everything tidy.
3) as others mentioned, cut the chain and throw all of them in a magnetic bowl or something like that.

I am leaning to option 3 because it is cheapest and probably easiest. But I'll probably wait to cut the cord until the day comes when I need to do so.

Works great. I had a nut that I strongly suspected was SAE, but since both Metric and SAE are on the same cable, I found the correct metric size, saved a lot of potential frustration at the hardware store.

OK, this works as advertised . . . almost. I've used it to identify bolts and it easily and quickly differentiates between a 8-24 and an 8-32. The problem comes in when you need to identify the thread of a stationary hole. You put the 'bolt' section in and then you realize you have to turn the whole 'tool' which is loose, floppy, and cumbersome, if not impossible. It would be nice if the 'bolt' section for IDing holes would rotate independently. I know it would cost more, but this is difficult, if not unusable, for that function.

Still a bit pricey for what you get given missing sizes and lack of both coarse and fine metric and numbered in all sizes. Surprised Amazon does not carry a more complete set at a much lower price from China. Presentation on cable more suited for hanging from a pegboard than storing in a tool box. A nice option would be a set in a fitted plastic case. A nicer option would be a complete set in any presentation.

Mixed bag of metric, numbered, & inch coarse and fine threads as follows:

Excellent tool for any workshop. No more guessing as to whether or not a bolt or nut is metric or SAE. Saves stripping threads in some cases. It's not a tool that one would use every few minutes, but with it's fine finish - it'll be there when you need it. If you're inclined to ever do any mechanical tinkering, or even if you're a pro - it's a tool that's needed.

These are nice. In order to make them more user friendly I went to the local hardware store and bought 4 hex head bolts. I cut the wire rope they were strung on in the middle and on each end. I took the smallest metric gauge and screwed a screw in it to hold it in place on one end of wire rope then a put a screw in the largest metric gauge to hold it in place on the other end with the other metric gauges held in place between the smallest and largest gauges. I did the same thing with the fractional gauges. Now when I want to check a screw hole size I unscrew the end closed to the screw size I'll be checking and remove a few gauges and try them until I find the one that easily spins into place.

The sizes that this can check are not clearly listed in the product description - so just as a warning to others thinking of buying it - it is primarily for larger gauge nuts and bolts and doesn't go to far down. If you need to measure M2 or M3 size nut and bolts this isn't going to be useful.

Other than that - it is a solid product worth having!

I've been throwing random screws into a bin for some time. I stumbled upon something like this (not for sale) at my local hardware store and realized I should be storing everything by size and threading. This works great! Easy to identify screws, and when you don't need it, it hangs out of the way.
