I purchased this remote after researching the internet for an extra remote for my son. This deal roughly cut the price in half of what other suppliers were asking! Was shipped right out and received within a few days and works flawlessly. An exact duplicate of the originals. Couldn't be happier. Actually it's an upgrade because the keypads light up on the originals randomly when it's supposed to do so on touch. This one works the way it's supposed to on touch only.

Sometimes looks do make a difference! This remote is not only nice to look at, but serves its purpose well. It was super easy to program, push the learn button on our garage door lift and hold the coordinating button on the remote. Easily was able to recognize each garage door and functions great. The blue lights light up when your hand just about touches the remote so you can see which door to open. The blue lights may not be completly necessary as the buttons are plenty big enough, but they are certainly fun! Have owned for one month and have not had any problems with it.

Unit works very well as remote door opener. The only issue is that in a cold vehicle the infrared sensing seems to false trigger with temperature variation from heater, defroster or even your breathing. This causes blue lights to come on frequently which ultimately reduces battery life. After pre-determined number of activations, light will disable until you press a button. To avoid this annoyance, I finally placed remote in glove box which is not really accessible.

I wanted a remote for my new, homelink-less vehicle, and didn't want a clumsy-looking, plain old black remote stuffed somewhere in the car, nor a key-fob-like device dangling from my keys. This was the only thing I could find that seemed to fit the bill - somewhat stylish looking, and possibly mountable in a semi-visble spot.

Unfortunately, the style doesn't go well with my interior (not that I'm a decorator type in the first place), but it fits perfectly upside down in the sunglasses holder near the rear view mirror. This also allows the blue proximity lights to work as my hand gets near.

Aside from the looks, it's just a garage door opener. The lights are handy at night. Its not as elegent a solution as a HomeLink visor or mirror, but the cost is much less. If you need something like I did, this is your device.

As a garage door opener, it works just fine. The problem herein lies with the 'motion sensing' led's. The first 48 hours were great, then randomly the lights on the remote would light up while I was driving. At first I thought it was do to road vibration, but after time I realized it just happened at random. This behavior increased until finally, it went away....because the battery was dead.

So save your $ and the the old school black one!

Have not been impressed with these. The batteries seem to go weak very quickly have to get right up to the door for them to finally work. They also randomly light up at night which can be quite distracting as you are driving. un-impressed to say the least.

I bought one of these to replace the identical item that came with my LiftMaster 3800 garage door opener (my old one got caught under a car seat and one of the buttons was crushed).

They work well, have good range and look a little better in the car than the old fashioned clickers. In the two years since I have my openers installed, I've yet to replace a battery, so to me, battery life is good. It's slightly large, but that has the advantage of making the buttons easy to hit, even with gloves.

This remote was easy to program - newer LiftMaster openers can be programmed right from the wall control, so there's no need to climb a ladder up to the unit itself. Just push "Learn" on the wall unit, push a button on the new remote - and that's it. Under five minutes to program it into all three of my openers.

Like some others, I do have mixed opinions on the proximity lights. For one thing, they seem to come on at random times, and if you clip the remote to your visor, it can be distracting at night. Have to say that this one is better than the older one it replaces, so perhaps LiftMaster has done some fine tuning. Still, would be nice if there was a way to switch off this feature altogether.

Otherwise, these are fine units that should last a long time while looking okay. If your car doesn't have HomeLink (or whatever), then this is a good alternative.

I have purchased this remote control to control the gate openers in my house. While the signal was very weak, worse yet, after only one week the plastic on the back of the remote for the metal clip holding the remote for deviser has broken. As I examined it I realize that the plastic was very thin where the clip attaches leaving it as a structural weakness. I have contacted the company and requested a return. I sent the remote back and paid for the shipping costs. The company acknowledged receiving it but flatly refused to give me a refund. They started claiming that I actually didn't send them the right remote and that it wasn't theirs. Strangest thing to happen to me ever, almost comical. They kept asking me if I want a replacement, which I've numerous times said no too. I finally lodged a formal complaint with amazon. I recommend to steer clear of this company and buy elsewhere. If something goes wrong, forget about dealing with the seller.
