I purchased 2 of these whips for my 5 yr and 3 yr old boys. I decided on this higher priced whip because of the 4inch length as opposed to the cheaper priced 6inch length thinking it would be the perfect size for the boys. However, upon receiving these, I found that these whips are made from a foam type material. I am very disappointed that this was not stated in the product description. Being that this is for a child, I feel this is very important information because knowing this I would have not purchased this particular whip. I would have gone with the less expensive 6inch 'leather' whip. Seeing as this is made from a foam like material is can be torn or riped easily. I guess it really depends on what you are wanting to use this whip for. For me, my boys needed something a little more durable. So, I am returning this item and getting the leather one.

I gave this item 2 stars simply because the product description did not give me all the needed information to make an educated purchase. And I now have the hassle of returning this item and buying another one.

This is our second one. The first one lasted my five year old about 2 years until he and his friend had a heated "tug-of-war" with it. My son loves it! It's not really going to hurt anyone if he cracks the whip and he it is durable. If your kid is an Indiana Jones fanatic like mine GET THIS!

This is for very little adventurers. Kids over 4 y/o will probably get bored with it rather quickly. buy the 6' version instead. Just be careful because that one can do some damage!
