It's not a "perfect" system as far as holding your gun hands free. Swings good left and right but not for elevation. I prefer using the gun mounted stud that connects directly to the fund sling stud. That is a better way to go in my opinion.

This Bog Gear Xtreme Shooting Rest really fills the bill. I have tried a couple of other tripods with extensions in an attempt to hold a rifle steady while sighting in. This Rest in combination with the Bog Gear Tripod is the only one that has worked.

Bought this for my "Bog Pod" mainly for help in sighting in my smaller caliber rifles and shotgun I use for turkey hunting. It is a very sturdy rest and works nearly as well as shooting from a bench. I think it would be a bit cumbersome for actually taking hunting due to it's size but would work great from a blind or a tree stand once there. I am happy with the product and would suggest it to others.

This rest is good for lighter rifles but not for the heavy ones over about 8 pounds. The Bog Gear system is great and I use it all the time while hunting ground hogs but this rest is a little light weight, more for a Deer gun.

I bought the shooting rest at the same time that I bought the Bob Gear Adopt -a - Pod. Both of these products work well together. This rest is stable and will not marr or scratch your rifle. I use this rest shoot my Gamo 1400 Big Cat Break Barrel Air Rifle. The rest allows me to shoot tighter groups more consistent. I would buy again and I recommend this product.

Not quite a shooting bench but real close. Even works with AR rifles but shines with your favorite bolt gun. Helps my youngest boy 9 stay on target may also help with buck fever. I can't wait to try it during turkey season. Well built and would haul it on a western hunt for the long shots.
