We decided to go with this case for a special project where we needed a hard protective case that we could install an inside face plate for an electronic controller. These cases are pre-designed with an inner lip that is designed for mounting a panel. The lip even has screw holes so installation of our control panel is very easy. We tried other well-known cases but we had to secure the faceplate with screws or rivets coming in from the side of the case, compromising its water resistance. These Nanuk cases are built extremely well (even better in our opinion than the "p" brand), the handle is more robust, and the double-action side latches give it the more futuristic look that we desired. Also you can open the latches and fold them all the way open and they "lock" out of the way until you release them. Nice feature if you want the latches to stay out of your way, which we did.

Well-priced, well-built, well-designed and the color options are great.

Note that this case does NOT come with the foam inserts, so if you're expecting those you will need to choose a different part number that has the foam.

My roommate owned some Pelican and they are top of the line. I own Nanuks. They fell more sturdy and the latch handles are more secure and easier to operate than Pelican. Whenever I open a Pelican I feel like I'm going to break a finger nail or scratch myself because it is too hard to pull up on the latches. With Nanuk, it locks tight, but there is another easier safety release that you push, making the latch very easy to release. I feel like a child can safely latch and unlatch Nanucks, but not Pelican. I often have to slap the latch of Pelicans in order to latch them close. I never have to do that with Nanuks. I have also dropped this case with my camera and lenses in it and they are perfectly fine.

This is the best watertight box I have ever used. I use this to hold my Nikon d610 with an extra lens when I go white water kayaking. I bought the box specifically to protect my camera when on remote rivers running class IV and V Rapids in a kayak. I couldn't be happier. The box fit in my kayak's seat with me. Kept everything dry and from banging around. I would buy Nanuk boxes again and again.

THis is a rugged box made of good plastic and in my opinion rivals and looks better than the Pelican boxes. They're certainly priced better and employ an ingenuous latching system. I highly recommend it.

Best price for a Nanuk case, so good I bought two and gave one to my brother. It does what it needs to do, keeps your investment safe. Big plus on the one hand opening compared to having both of your hands to open a Pelican case. The quality is much better than a Pelican.

This case is amazing, evey time I open it I feel like some sort of secret agent. I bought this to put my portable projector in and not hurt it on my travels. It came with some break-away foam which made it easy to accomodate my projector and all the accoutrements. I even through this case down the stairs on a drunken bet, no scratches to the case at all and no issues with any of my equipment.

After twenty years of being a photographer I realized now I can never have enough cases, bags, etc. After seeing a companion travel with a case like this I was able to get one of my own and I have to say it has me rethinking how I pack and travel. This case is super-solid, like a hard case is, but is also lockable and watertight, two things that come into play, often times, when you least expect it. The foam inside is partially pre-cut allowing you to map out exactly how to fit your delicate and beloved equipment. I also like the fact the hinges on the side require you to press a secondary button before they release, almost like a two-part hinge release on the back of your camera. After using this small case I've decided to look for something larger in the same line. Last week I watched an irate airline passenger pull down a fellow traveler's bag, four or five feet to the airplane floor, something I seem to be seeing more and more these days. Had that been my bag, full of equipment, I'd probably still be at the airport sobbing. Overall, a great case, and something I'll be putting to good use. I recently picked up a Leica M9 and this case will be perfect for this.
