Great sand. I recently bought this for my 5.5 gallon betta tank. The color is a subtle off-white and looks very natural in the tank. It looks phenomenal under a white LED light. The grains are much bigger than sand but smaller than gravel. Like any substrate, be sure to rinse before use so the tank water doesn't become murky. Every sand packet should come with a complimentary Carib Sea BioMagnet Clarifier dosage for 5 gallons to decrease water cloudiness.

This is the second Carib Sea product I have ordered. No regrets here!

Laughing..... because I bought this sand for a "butt bucket". I don't want anyone smoking in my home (P-U) so I have butt buckets on the porch for those that wish to go on the covered deck and smoke. I think this sand is great.

I have three tanks and all of them contain Super Naturals substrate. Two have Tahitian Moon and my small 5 gallon betta tank contains Torpedo Beach. When I was new to the hobby I started with substrates from "big box" stores who sell dyed substrates that leach and cannot, in my opinion, be healthy for fish in the long term. I won't buy anything but Carib Sea at this point. Super Naturals is NOT artificially colored and it always looks gorgeous under LED lighting. Also, going with sand as opposed to coarser gravel is a better option because food and other debris stay on top of the sand, making for easy cleanup. The Natural Torpedo beach is a very, very light beige and the grains are a little coarser than what I expected. However, it add dimension to the tank and looks beautiful, and still offers the easy cleanup I was looking for.

Best size gravel for fish tanks (makes cleaning easy since the gravel is heavy enough not to be sucked up by hose but light enough to filter). Nice natural coloration and no cloudiness at all (added directly to tank without pre-washing).
