Two issues:

1. the bottom interior measurement is ~ 17'x12" and not 18.5"x13.25" as stated on the Akro-Mils website. http://www.akro-mils.com/Products/Industrial/Totes-Containers/Attached-Lid-Containers.aspx

2. the above issue is important because of 6 hemispherical nubs which project up into the bottom the tote. These projections make it impossible to flat stack books. As a work around, one can cut plywood and place it on top of the nubs and then stack books on that. Not knowing about the nubs (I assumed it was a flat bottom) and having the incorrect dimensions was frustrating.

Otherwise, the boxes seem as described. Buyer Beware.

Sized to stack and to maximize storage space
I'd given up finding these locally. Everything
was too flimsy to store in a garage that
gets super hot in summer. These are tough.
No lids sagging. Can take 100lbs weight -
and that's more than I can lift even when
I am feeling very Olympic! That's a tag line
to a joke but you'd need to remember the
Movie Cool Running starring the Jamaican
Bobsled Team....

Now that I've found these jewels I'm going
to redo the garage storage. Life without
a basement isn't easy....

Great for Ship & Storage, I took away one star because they are expensive. Otherwise they are of very good quality.
Note: They have a hole by each of the handles where you can fasten the two interlocking lids with Cable Ties like these: (follow link below).

Update 9/26/2013: While sipping some valuable items on these plastic containers, UPS had delivered all 3 containers but two cracked really bad. I don not know what kind of warranty these have, but either the manufacturer or Amazon.com should replace those 2 broken containers that cracked as I am not able to ship anything else in them. (21.5-Inch L by 15-Inch W by 17-Inch H, Blue).

Last year my daughter moved and used these boxes. I loved how easy they were to pack, unpack, and how well they protect the contents. This year bought my own set and love how they protect my valuables while moving. They also have holes to zip lock the containers closed before they get loaded on the truck. After the move, they were great to use in the garage to store items. Hardy boxes and so easy to work with.

These containers are made of high-impact plastic, and will stand up to just about any abuse. Being 17" high and 21" long, they are ably to handle a lot of larger household items that wouldn't fit even in a legal sized paper box.

You might balk at the price, but consider that you'll have them forever, they are impervious to mold and moisture,(unlike cardboard boxes) and they can be secured shut with wire ties. Not waterproof, but at least you don't have to worry about moisture getting in from the bottom if you have these in a storage unit or the basement.

All in all, a great quality product.

These babies are amazing. So great for stacking and transporting. Good amount of space inside. We have used them to just trow stuff in for vacations or trips to the pool. We meant to use them for storage but have been using them so much for other stuff we haven't got to the storage part.

I put these through the ringer. They are stuffed with stuff every single week and then stacked about five high. After that they get slung around on a trailer for about 20 miles a week. I have had none crack, warp, refuse to close, or anything negative at all. The closing mechanism works and can sustain weights well above 150 lbs. Great buy.
