Start with a clean, empty litter box and pour in Fresh Step _ Clay litter to a depth of 2 - 3 inches. Regularly remove solid waste between complete litter box changes. Sprinkling additional Fresh Step (R) Clay litter each time you remove solid waste will help keep the litter box fresh. Dispose of solid waste and used litter in the trash. Empty the entire litter box as needed. Dispose of used litter in the trash; do not flush down the toilet or drain.

I'm so glad Amazon carries this litter. For my cat, the regular litter works better than the clumping litter. The odor is much less which is greatly appreciated in a small apartment and the litter doesn't clump in inopportune spots, like the kitchen floor. Please keep supplying this product, it is getting hard to find.

This is THE VERY BEST LITTER I HAVE EVER USED! I have been moving into a new/old house. I have had a cat litter box in the kitchen under the kitchen table for 4 months. I know HOW GROSS! No other place is practical right now. The other box is in the powder room about 15 feet from the kitchen table. I'm not lying, but, I will tell you I can leave the litter in the box without scooping anything for up to 5 days with NO ODOR! I have 2 hungry 20lb cats. You get the idea.

I am 58 yrs old and have had cats all my life. The old clay was nasty and wasn't all that absorbant. I had to empty and scrub the boxes often.Then the scooping litter was popular so I used that for some time. The powder got all over everything and up my nose and in my mouth. Also even with the scoopable litter the boxes usually stunk and I had to scrub them out often. I also didn't like having to bend over to scoop the mess into a bag EVERY day. Over the past year I have tried other clay litters again. Cheap litter was horrible.

I tried this FRESH STEP EXTREME LITTER and am now hooked for the rest of my cat-loving life. After, up to 5 days all I have to do is use my litter scoop to lightly loosen any wetness on the bottom, tip the box into a garbage bag and it all falls out so easily. No muss no fuss! I have let it go longer than 5 days but I feel so sorry for the boys that it is not worth the guilt. Since I have been using this litter the cats have not had an accident anywhere else in the house! That was not always the case with the other litters.Even at 5 days when I do change it there is STILL NO ODOR. I have arthritis so it is difficult to lug the bags home from the store. It's cat litter...not exciting. Be sure you want to order NON CLUMPING if you buy this. I didn't read the description thoroughly before ordering, so wasn't happy when it arrived. That is entirely my fault though. It works just fine as the old style cat litter that it is.

I switched from clumping litter to Fresh Step Clay Litter a few years ago for my 4 cats and it was a great decision! Fresh Step is the only clay litter that I use because it keeps the odor away. I also think clay lilitter is better for the cats, and the people who care for them because there's less dust to inhale than scoopable litter. Of course I do have a Cat Genie as well, which makes my life a lot easier, but I like to keep a regular litter box available to prevent any bickering in my multiple cat household : )

It's more convient for me to have the cat litter delivered. The next time I order I may order the 14 lb. bags instead; getting the box with 2 21 lb bags inside and out of the same box was difficult for me. All of my cats have been using Fresh Steop clay litter for a long time. I have only 2 cats now but have had as many as 4 at one time. With the usual amount of scooping and changing the litter box there has been minimal odor problems

The only reason it's only getting 4 stars instead of 5 is that they limit the quantity one can buy at once.
I live alone, mind you , I don't have a car, so going out to get the litterbox for my cat is tedious and sometimes hard, since it can be a fairly heavy item to transport it on foot, even if it's just a couple of blocks. I thought I'd order three bags and be ok for almost a month and they told me I'd gone over their limit. What was I going to do with 3 bags? resell it? that's certainly an alarming quantity * sarcastic tone*

I have had cats for the past 37 years. I started using Fresh Step as soon as it became available, sometime back around 2010 or so. I prefer the clay litter to the scoopable. I use less litter and have to change it less frequently due to the charcoal and baking soda ingredients. This stuff is fantastic! I will never use another brand of litter again, and I expect to have cats in my house as long as I'm alive. I honestly believe this is the best litter on the market! As always with Amazon Prime, you pay more to have it delivered to your door in 2 days, but for me, the added price is worth it on this one since I am unable to pick up the larger bags. The delivery driver is always so sweet as to knock on the door and wait for us to answer when he delivers heavy packages. He always brings them in for us, for which my back, neck, shoulders, and knees are extremely grateful!
