Look, you dont see a coat rack coverd with coats do you ? No you dont. I loaded this thing up with my winter Carhart,a couple of shirts hats and a sweater or two no problems. And it did look nice before I buried it. Put this thing together in less then 5 min's.

Everything came in pieces that I had to screw together, which is what I was expecting, but the top was already attached, and poorly. It is very loose and crooked, but it's not a screw so I can't take it off and fix it. I debated sending it back, but the rest of it is fine and it seems sturdy. You can't really tell when there are coats on it, so I'm just gonna keep it. I'm kind of annoyed by it though.

This product is actually not as pictured in the following ways: 1) it is not lacquered and does not have a shiny finish, it is a mat espresso brown. 2) It has "prongs" or "hooks" in the middle of the stand and variously toward the top and very top 3) the feet or legs are not curved, but are in very "modernistic" straight style 4) the "pole" portion is not beveled or twisted as the picture shows, but is smooth round all the way up. These all amount to a different product, it is an attractive modern looking product, but never the less very different. So if a buyer has colonial or mission style wood furniture, or furniture that has lacquer or shiny stain, this will not mesh well or match.

I thought I liked this coat rack, until a shear plane in the post of this coat rack snapped off one night. At least I didn't waste more than $14, on such a cheap piece of furniture. Aesthetically it was nice (if unassuming), but if it can't perform it's ONE job of keeping my coats off the ground, I can NOT recommend this.

delivery took a while, but it was when they said. the legs don't really go all the way into the slots like it appears they should, (they dont go flush at the end) but with the piece that goes on the very bottom to hold them on, it works good. Also the top with the coat pegs turns, but maybe its supposed to...I didn't expect that, but its not a deal breaker either. Its worth the money.

Within a year, the wood began to "crumble." First, a coat hanging on one of the upper prongs resulted in that prong to rip out of piece of the wood on the support pole, rendering that prong useless. It happened again with a second prong. None of those coats were particularly heavy. The base is rather small, so I've had the pole tip over a number of times. On the most recent occurrence, one of the legs ripped a part of the wood on the pole, now rendering this entire rack useless.

Second, I was able to put the rack together in less than five minutes (no tools are needed, but be sure to assemble the base first).
