This scale serves the purpose. The pros are: it is quite accurate with great sensitivity just like advertised, the side mounted pushbuttons are well placed- out of the way, the forward looking display makes it very easy to read, the auto-hold feature is great too, well timed auto cutoff, and it is relatively cheap. The cons: the main flaw is platform size, at 8" wide by 6" deep its fine for small packages but something of any size to it would be difficult since the area of the platform is so small...makes me question the accuracy of a larger, heavier package since this scale is rated to 75 pounds. The calibration takes a 75lb. weight? Like people have that laying around, not happening. They state in the warranty card "lifetime" in the very first paragraph...then in the very next paragraph state "Weightmax will repair or replace products one year from the date of your purchase without additional charges. We will only charge you the cost to repair or replace your products after the first year." The product is a good value for the money, why brag about a false warranty? I just have a problem with companies bragging on a lifetime warranty and in actuality it is one year pretty much.

I bought this scale so I could use the free USPS.com mailing service. The scale I got from one of the commercial mailing services did not have a digital read-out and only worked with their online service. Needless to say, it was useless when I discontinued the commercial mailing service. The cost of this scale was about the same as one month of the commercial service and I can mail boxes and packages using the free USPS.com mailing service using this scale. It is easy to use, very intuitive, and works well. The range of weights is also helpful since the limit of priority mailing is 70 lbs. It is a good buy!

I've been using eBay since 2003 and for those who were there long before or during the period of 2003-2009ish, I'm sure you will agree that things aren't how they used to be... I figured the only thing I really could take of advantage of now when using eBay was to make sure I'm getting solid-to-the-point shipping and handling costs. This scale has achieved that for me. It's super simple to use, portable, came with a 9-volt battery and an AC adapter (optional if you want to save battery life), is so cheap, and can max out at 75 lbs! I you think you are on eBay to make profits, then using a scale will be of great advantage. Anyways, I quickly analyzed the market. Skipped past the USPS scale (expensive with extremely low weight capacity) and all the others then settled comfortably with this option from Amazon. $22.50, got here in a day and wow, my friends are lined up asking to borrow it.... Maybe I should let each rent or preview it for $5/day and cover the costs.... hmmmm...???? BUY IT NOW!

This scale is perfect for those wanting to weigh physical goods that are under 75 lbs--or roughly 37kg--and small enough to be handled by yourself. I bought this for weighing packages, and I will say first that the scale is accurate. The latter is really the most important thing that I wanted with a scale, and this one meets that. Where the Weighmax adds to this is that it is also made well with a metal casing and weighing close to 5 pounds.

The downside is that it is small (about 8" across) so big packages will be hanging over it quite a bit. However, you will still get accurate readings, though it will take a little balancing to get there. The downside is also a positive. Because of this scale being on the mid-small size, it can be placed anywhere and not be a unpleasant intrusion.

The Weighmax does take a 9-volt battery, but can run off an AC adaptor which is supplied. It can read lbs or kgs (not grams alone), and locks the weight in on the read-out after your physical good has been on the scale for about 2-3 seconds. This allows you to take the package off or leave it on and get a reading.

Glad that I could find a weight scale that worked for the price this goes for. For the online small-business, hobbyist seller, or for those who want to see the weight of items, you could not ask for more.

I love this shipping scale. Especially I love "hold function". After you put item over it for 2-3 seconds, it will beep and hold the weight for around 10 seconds. Very convenient for large items.

Recently I went from shipping one to two items a week to shipping several dozen items a week. In an effort to decrease costs, I began to require accurate measurements for shipping costs but my bathroom weight scale was not cutting it.

I spotted the Weighmax as a suggestion by a fellow eBayer and I thought I would give it a try.

+++ USEAGE +++
This item was operational straight from the box. There are only a few buttons on the scale that help keep this item to a very simplistic frustration-free level.

The item is either powered by a 9 volt batter or wall-ac adaptor.

I tested this weight scale against two others including the scales at the USPS and UPS offices and found that, in each instance, it was accurate down to the precise ounce.

The weight scale goes up to an INCREDIBLE level of 75 pounds. Very few times will you go to this level. For myself, the only time I approached this level was when I was weighing suitcases for a planned trip on an airplane and our frantic attempts to get the suitcase below a 50 pound limit.

When weighing items and the weight on the scale has stabilized, the scale will beep informing you that the weight has been locked in. You can remove the item and see the weight. This was very helpful for large objects such as my suitcase which prevented visual confirmation of the weigh while the item was on the scale itself.

+++ CONCLUSION +++
Overall, highly recommended. It has saved me a tremendous amount of money in both shipment costs and travel costs making it worth the investment.
