The middlemen here are getting rid of the discontinued supply, probably at a nice profit.
I just received the bottle today and it has an expiration date of 3/2013. This bottle contains 365 drops with a one drop a day dosage. So it expires way before a year's normal dosage. I do not question the quality of the product just that darn expiration date. This isn't the first time I have received a product with short lifespans from Amazon. Same thing happened with some A&P coffee. That had the same situation of being a discontinued item with an abbreviated lifespan. So it seems the Amazon warehouse becomes the dumping ground for soon to be discontinued products. Buyer Beware!
Update 9-29-13: I just noticed this product is still being offered on Amazon by World of Omega. When I go to the Carlson website I can only find this product:

which is now called Super Daily D3 4000 units.
Carlson states it is 11 ml which is .38 fluid ounces.
So I must question World of Omega:
What is your expiration date for this discontinued product?
Why is the picture of it so out of focus?
Why do you state it is 1.8 ounces? This can not be net fluid ounces because the new Carlson product also has 365 drops and is only .38 fluid ounces. Again, I'd say buyer beware and check out this before buying the above product from World of Omega:

I wish more supplements were like this. All that's in here is vitamin D as cholecalciferol in fractionated coconut oil (aka caprylic/capric triglyceride - which has a good rep and I actually use as a carrier oil/moisturizer for my skin). I would rather deal with a nasty taste for a few seconds rather than put all those fillers and other junk in my system (look up the silica/silicon dioxide that's added to most supplements in capsules which comes form ground up quartz crystal and what it can do to you), but actually this product has no taste whatsoever. Since vitamin D in high quantities upsets my stomach, I just rub this into my skin since studies show topically applied vitamin D is absorbed as efficiently as ingesting it. (Google "absorption of topically applied vitamins"). Also, using it this way helps prevent taking to much since your skin regulates the amount of absorption your body gets (you can also google the studies showing this).

I was very low in D3...My finger nails we all ridged and were like paper...Two months of using the non tasting oil each day and the ridges have almost grown out and the new nails are strong and without ridges. I also have so much more energy. This is an amazing product.

It's good to finally see this level of potency in oil drops. I take 20K IU (5 drops) each morning in my smoothie. Those people that say 400 IU per day is adequate are about 20 years behind the research.

I am a healthy 36 year old female that lives in the midwest (which means low to no sun for most of the year - and when there is sun, I wear sunscreen always - even in winter - so I don't look 36 lol). I took a health risk assessment at work in February, and everything came back perfect EXCEPT that I was seriously deficient in Vitamin D! (healthy levels are between 30 and 80 - I was at a 17!) Ruh Roh!! So, I took the info to my doctor, and he prescribed me 50,000 IU's of Vitamin D2 three times a week for one month and then told me to take liquid Vitamin D3 daily at the same time.

He told me that I was basically like a gas tank. The 50,000 IU's would "fill me up" and the daily drops would keep me full.

So after reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance on these particular drops. And let me tell you - I LOVE THEM. I give them to my whole family now! (haha, when I give to my teenager along with the gummy vitamins I tell her - "I give you the gift of good health, my daughter" - I take 2 drops a day and feel marvelous - healthier, more energetic, happier - than I've felt for a long, long time. I tell everyone this story and urge them to try these drops. Now, I am a pretty enthusiastic reviewer I know, but these drops deserve every bit of it! I will take these for life!!!

I have always really liked this product. My latest bottle seems to have changed in that the drops don't want to come out like the old style bottles. I have to shake it and it is difficult to tell how many drops have come out. If I start feeling the blues, I realize that I have been neglecting to take this stuff.

This is just in reference to the company that shipped the product. The expiration date on the Vitamin D drops is set to expire in March of this year, roughly three months after I purchased it. For a "drop a day" dosage that should allow for one Year's worth of product this is much too soon. The company should be mindful of the expiration dates on their supplements and not sell any that are close to expiring. I will not purchase from this vendor again.

I started at a blood level of 20 with a goal of 50, I have met and exceeded that goal due to the quality and my actually taking them ;) The flavor is totally innocuous, so no ickies. If you need to up your levels due to deficiency, this is perfect, and the quality is supposed to be very very high. I would agree given my success in a short time.
