If you know anything about Zoo Meds products, you know that they are alright products to buy, not the best, but just alright. In the case of their hydromonitors and thermometers, if its not digital, dont use it. This little guy was off +/- 5 to 10 degrees on average. These are cheep little pieces of garbage that should not be sold due to how inaccurate they are. Use a digi thermometer and you will be much more happy with your purchase.

i purchased this for my red-eared slider's above tank basking area. the thermometer is accurate and easy to read. it seems fairly durable. the velcro back is great! it makes it easier to remove for cleaning the tank.

my only complaint (not even really a complaint...more of an observance) is that if the thermometer gets bumped, the needle vibrates and it takes close to 30 seconds to stabilize. not a big deal, but it gets annoying if you're in a hurry.

I got a flat strip thermometer as well, NOT AS PICTURED! if I would have known it was a strip I woupdnt have bought it. this is not the correct thermometer to use for reptiles. you need one like this is pictured to set on the bottom of the tank or stick to the side of the tank on the bottom

Picture shows a circular thermometer for a reptile tank. I got a flat strip thermometer for an aquarium. They misrepresent the item being sold by using a different picture unless they just had an honest mistake. Ugh.. online buying sucks sometimes.
