I am not an expert on fiberglass materials but from my research I have head that good fiberglass resin should be thin and that the cheaper resins are thicker like maple syrup. This one is definitely of the maple syrup variety. In spite of that it has served my needs fine. I used it in an automotive repair to adhere to sheet metal and it seemed to adhere fine, though only time will tell about its longevity. I have also used it to product micarta for knife handles and it seems to work fine for that as well. It comes with hardener and has good directions on the can so this is probably a good resin for beginners to use, I say this as a beginner myself.

Very great price on fiberglass resin. Working commercially with fiberglass I know how expensive it can be, sometimes over $100 a gallon. I used this for a small project, making a sub box for my truck. I only needed about half for the whole box. It dried and cured well and the instructions were clear and easy. I was most amazed by the great price!

I found this resin to be lumpy and didn't set smooth as do others. I also found that once this resin did set, there was a greasy film over the finished piece which took allot of washing before I could continue working. I don't mind wiping down the work before working a second layer as normal, but this was excessive and took scrubbing with wax remover to get it clean, and it blushed to a not very uniform color.
