Honestly, I feel the 1 star AND the 5 star reviews are generally all correct.

This item is cheap, and it's slightly disappointing. It won't hold up to daily use. As a caddy that you'd open and close every day and toss in your bag for weeks of travel, it's a poor choice. You aren't getting five bucks worth of materials and workmanship here. In fact, you can pick one of these up in a the local container store right by the checkout counter.

In my case, I like keeping my low-self-discharge rechargeables in the fridge. I like them to be in a plastic container that keeps them tightly packed, properly oriented, and fairly safe from drips and grounding. There, they'll sit for several weeks at a time, hopefully undisturbed. IMO, this item is a fine choice for that.

Let's face it,when you purchase batteries today,they already come in packaging that can also serve as their storage container;however,I try to purchase batteries in larger quantities when they go on sale.Having that partially filled packaging can sure take up space.Even so,that situation would not have motivated me to buy this item.Lately,I've purchased Duracell brand rechargeable AA and AAA batteries along with their charger unit.I had so many AA and AAA "regular" batteries around that I needed a way to distinguish between those batteries that were the far more expensive rechargeable ones.These AA and AAA battery storage boxes seemed to fit my needs.Yes...these battery storage boxes are very tiny/small,but they are perfectly designed to each hold a dozen (12!) of either size that they were designed for.One might say that they are a little pricey as far as small plastic storage containers go,but each size container is a relatively thick grade plastic and their hinges are also thick and strong which should ensure long product life.I will offer the following:if you order other larger items in the same order and these are shipped together with the larger items,"before" you discard the shipping box => look for your containers amidst the packaging material--I almost threw my two small battery storage boxes out.I'm glad that I did not!

I was surprised by this battery case. I expected very little for the price, but it is a solid build and works great for carrying batteries for travel or keeping them organized in my camera bag. They also solve the problem of safe transport given the TSA and FAA rules around batteries on air travel these days. Highly recommend.

It's a battery case. It fits batteries. I have batteries in mine right now and it is totally holding them for all it is worth. Good job tiny clear box! It has a little movable divider (just one, mind you) so if you only have a few batteries you can scrunch them all up together at one end like a happy little battery family. And little Timmy Duracell and Bobby Energizer can hang out with their friends Jane and Jill Eneloop all nice and cozy-like and not rattle all over the place if you're tossing around your battery box. But you wouldn't do that anyway. Right?

Excellent deal for the price! Surprisingly the door latches every time I close it, and it's not deformed in any sort of way, even though the plastic is thin. It's battery meets the perfect molding process minimal enough to last long enough without wasting plastic. Cost reducer, hence this little guy. The plastic is sturdy enough to hold a case full of AAA batteries. I've opened the lid quite a few times, and the plastic hinge doesn't look worn down or ready to break or has broken off yet. As this box is specifically shaped to hold batteries, it sure beats tossing them in a shoe box or having them scattered around in various places. Keeps the battery + and - ends from touching preventing unwanted battery acid leaks and corrosion. Overall, it's definitely worth the investment and nothing more is required. Good protection and sturdy enough to outlast countless battery stays.

- Small plastic box for housing 12 batteries.
- I use it to store batteries that get loose or separated from the storage box they come in. I got tired of them rattling around in the bottom of a Tupperware container. This box solves that problem (for just 12 batteries).
- Box is not waterproof.
- Plastic is not cheap. It is thick thus preventing the box from crushing under normal use.
- Small enough to fit in your pocket and carry when camping. Keeps the batteries organized and from running loose in the bottom of a backpack.
- Latch is strong enough to hold the lid closed.
- Individual dividers along the bottom keep the batteries from rolling around. A full height center divider separates the batteries into sets of six.
- Hinge is the ‘one-piece’ plastic. It is thick enough that it should last for many uses before it eventually fails.

Note: I bought the AAA and AA box. This review is used from both units.

I bought this to store rechargeable batteries in the refrigerator. For that purpose this is a great product. I probably open and close it once a month, it keeps batteries in one place, oriented so there is no risk of accidentally creating a circuit and discharging, and the lid stays closed when snapped shut.

Is it super high-quality plastic? Not particularly. Does the lid fit with precision? Not exactly. But for the price it is about the level of quality I was expecting and works for my use case.

I took one of these on a work trip once and while it survived the trip, I don't think it is designed to handle more routine usage, such as opening and closing it daily, putting in and taking out of a work bag, or the occasional drop.

I also have the AA version of this product and would say that it is comparable in usability and quality.
