I own this product and purchased one for my father who loves it. Being a single guy, cooking fresh veggies for one is a pain. With this product I'm now cooking fresh veggies for one daily in the microwave with great results. I've used this product almost daily for over a year now and it looks as good as new. I can't say enough good things about this product thus the 5 star rating.

I got this as a gift in Feb '13. For 2 months I loved, LOVED this product. Used it almost everyday.... I steamed things, baked things, it was so easy. Veggies were crisp, but cooked. Meats were juicy & tender. Cleaning (if you don't have a dishwasher is annoying). BUT..... at about the 3 month mark, it started to smell more and more "plastic"... a weird silicon-ish version. And then it made my Veggies pick up this taste too. #*$@&(##$*$$ SIGH!!! Thankfully they are letting me exchange it. But, they & I have no idea why it got strange in the first place. My only guess is that it says it can withstand heat up to approx 220C which is about 420F. Sometimes I'll cook meat in the toaster oven at about 400, but never more than that. Maybe it couldn't handle it?? **TEAR**

My mother bought this for me after she bought one herself and loved it. She's a housewife and a crazy good cook, so she liked trying out the different recipes that the website offers. I am a college student and a pretty lazy/impatient one too, and this tray takes all the annoying parts out of cooking. I love crisp steamed veggies that you get at restaurants and this does a fantastic job of recreating that in my lonely apartment kitchen. I've even divulged a few times in making some entrees with it too. It's a big help when you want to eat healthy but just don't want to do the "cooking" portion of it. My favorite part of this is how delicious green beans and asparagus turn out when I use this steam tray. Crunchy, but not raw. Perfectly delicious.. I think it's a good buy if you're a poor college student who has to cook on their own, and also if you're a busy (or not busy, just love to cook) mom/wife/dad/husband who has to make food all the time for their family. It's pretty fun to experiment with too!

I am in love with Lekue. I bought this steamer in addition to the Lekue Ogya, which is unfortunately not yet being sold on Amazon. The design is so smart that you can easily strain out leftover water without having to open it up or burning your fingers: just tilt it to the side and the water will stream through the cracks.

I have not used the tray insert at all yet, because I use this as a regular dish: it fits two sliced apples or two sliced potatoes, so it's a bit lower than expected. The Ogya I have is green, but I bought this one in red and would recommend the red color if you ever plan on using tomato sauce with it!! My green Ogya has permanent red stains.

Quick recipes I love:
1: Thinly spread outmeal on the bottom, slice two apples and spread stevia or a Tsp of sugar over it, and nuke the whole thing for 10 minutes.

2: Slice 2 potatoes and spread out layers of potatoes, tomato sauce and ricotta, cover with parmesan cheese and nuke for 10 minutes.

3: Nuke sliced tomatoes for 5 mins, then add frozen salmon for a few more minutes, drizzled with lemon and sauce of your choice.

Also, check out Lekue's incredible recipes on either their Youtube channel or on lekue.be. Incredible because you never thought you could do all this in a microwave, in such a short time!! There is no faster way to eat healthy!

this is very useful. I use it almost every day.
it's worth buying it if you cook. * wash it right after you use it; otherwise, the food will get stuck on the tray, and it's difficult to remove.

for the first time in years i'm eating tons of vegetables and high-quality protein like fish every night. why? because it takes about the same amount of time as making a sandwich and actually tastes better. here's a typical meal: half a red onion, in thick slices; 5-6 cloves of garlic, peeled and sliced; half a red bell pepper, chopped; whole jalopeño pepper, sliced in rings; a drizzle of Marie's sesame ginger dressing; raw chicken breast tender... just stack in the lekue with chicken on top... microwave 4 minutes. or how about yams (in quarter inch slices) with fresh jalapeños, garlic and onion for sweet and savory? i pretty much throw anything together as long as it's fresh and it works.

from talking to people about the lekue, i think it may be most exciting for people who don't usually have the time or motivation to cook and eat right. i've been cooking this way for over 3 months now so i feel confident in its continuing usefulness and appeal for me.

This is one of my favorite things! I've now given many friends and family members the green version as a gift. I keep mine at work. My veggies cook faster and are greener and prettier. I love the liner so I can put chard, kale or spinach in and steam it quickly.

I also discovered it's a great way to cook frozen sausages without making a huge mess in the microwave.

I'll never imagine a major ingredient of breast implants can be turned into a wonderful cooking and eating utensil. I'm literally blown away. Half a year ago I purchased one and have been using it to steam vegetable (perfect snack at 3:30 pm), cook frozen Chinese dumplings, make instant ramen, reheat packaged soup and lunch I packed from home. To be honest, I am amazed by how many of the above uses can be perfectly done by, say, a Rubbermaid box with a lid. But that cute little space age pod design just makes you feel so much more hip, mysterious, metrosexual, innovative, and motivated.

I wouldn't go so far to say this is an environmentally friendlier alternative to plastic. This thing cannot be killed, silicone melts at 1410 Celsius (2570 Fahrenheit) and is very stable; I cannot imagine how many billion years will be needed for it to decompose. But at a price of US$30 I will guard it with my life. The thought of losing it like losing my previous 27 Tupperware containers haunts me time to time; I will not wish that upon my worst enemies. To make sure my silicone treasure will not go into the landfill and choke the ground to death, I'll probably write this into my will, giving it to my loved one.

Since I keep my Lekue in my office, I often miss it dearly when I am at home. Last week, with a $20 coupon, I purchased my second one. When I opened the mail package, I had to dig my head into the odorless and soft silicone shell and repeatedly took deep breathes to prevent myself from having happiness-induced hyperventilation.

I hope you'll enjoy using this little fellow as much as I do. It's very well designed and easy to clean. A couple more tips:

Great invention. Vegetables are cooked in 3-5 minutes without a mess in the kitchen. Fish and omelettes can also be prepared and cooked for about 5-7 minutes. All in the microwave.
