As a programmer, I spend the majority of my time on my arse. After years of this, I've started suffering from restless-leg syndrome due to lack of movement/exercise. I decided to get a pedal machine and looked around for the best one. Most where fixed height models -- which won't work for me since it would have to fit under a desk and I'm short. I love that this model has various height adjustments so that it's low enough for my knees not to bang the bottom of the desk as I pedal all day long while working.
For the first 2 weeks the machine did squeak quite a bit, but I kept lubricating it daily with oil (machine oil or WD-40) and by now it pedals very quietly. The resistance knob is pretty worthless, but I'm not interested in a strenuous workout - since I'm pedaling easily all day I get a gentle workout without the sweat (something you don't want in an office environment).
This is my 4th week of using the pedals and while I haven't lost any weight, my jeans now fit loosely (I now have to wear a belt) as opposed to *very* snugly when I first started. Overall I'm very pleased with this model and recommend it to anyone who spends 8+ hours sitting at a desk.

I was looking for something just to allow my body to move a little while I am chained to my desk writing reports. The resistance on the exerciser isn't great, and pedalling becomes jerky/less smooth when you crank the resistance up. I just leave it loose since I am mainly looking for motion, not a workout. It doesn't replace exercise, but it's better than nothing when you have a desk job.

Now here's the information I wish I had when buying: I have this under a desk. At its lowest height (10.5") setting, my knees JUST BARELY clear the bottom of the desk, which is 29" off the floor. Every once in a while I'll bang into the desk. I have relatively long legs: 34" inseam.

What this means is I'm glad I paid extra for this one, because all the other (less expensive) models were about 2" higher and would not have worked.

I have it jammed against the wall, so the unit moving around has not been an issue... instead my rolling chair moves! but I got the hang of it. The structure rocks side to side slightly, but I think if I crank down the adjustment bolt, that will fix that. Have had no problem with noise. The only slightly annoying thing is the foot loops on the pedals flip down and it is awkward to flip them back up under the desk (The loops hit the floor if you do not have your feet through them). I may just take them off.

After many hours of research, comparing prices and reviews on these pedal exercisers, I stopped wringing my hands in confusion, and ordered this folding one. For the price, I figured I could not go wrong.
It has enough heft to feel like it will withstand vigorous pedaling and not break. It is quiet enough that I can peddle and still hear what is on the television, and the rubber feet keep in stationary, so it does not scamper off while you are pedaling.
It has completely exceeded my expectations based on the reviews I had read of this and other pedalers. You can't go wrong with it. Happy pedaling!

Truly I was expecting good resistance, with the dial. Nope, but it's okay. Tightening the tension dial causes more squeeks, but that is alright. For the most part the cycling motion is something to get accustomed to, because it has such a short pedal drop, and no belt, no magnetic, nor chain drive; and I don't think it has barrings. Pedaling is jerky, but becomes smooth if you reach the speed that makes rotation easier.

I like the height adjustment bar, however, I found at the highest level it will topple forward. Actually, the 3rd whole from the front, accomodates most needs; doesn't matter how high, or how low I am sitting. I initially used it while sitting, and watching the news in my double sized cumfy chair in my living room for about an hour; which was great. This morning, I got to the edge of my bed, with the exerciser on the floor, while watching the shopping chanel; and started pedaling the hour away. And sweating too. This time I was sitting higher, and my legs, and thighs had free movement, and extention. I really like using it, this way.

The price point is good enough, for what it can offer. But I surely don't know how long it will last; because it does get extremely hot on the pedal bar, near the crank. Yes I burned my self really badly.

***WARNING*** If you have toddlers, please, after you use thing, Put it out of their reach. It will cause a severe burn, if they touch the metal

Bought this attractive chromed item in February and it performed well for about two months. But alas, the hinged support frame for the pedal developed a fatique crack at the bottom horizontal bolt tying it to the foot frame. After so many cycles, it completely sheered in two to my surprise. A simple brass bushing will fix the problem provided Isokinetics does a proper redesign. So, in the meantime folks, I do not not recommend purchasing the current model as configured. However, Isokinetics earns three stars for two months service and a swift no-hassle refund. Wish I could have kept it...
