Ok. So here's the deal. My husband pranked my 10 year old by hiding in the pantry to scare him. Revenge was eminent. Poor ole daddy is 'fraid of rats. Muahaaaaa!!! We ordered this silly rat just to pay said husband back. In truth, it doesn't look all that realistic. But!!! When we hid the front of the rat next to the trash can beside the toilet with the tail hanging out, SUCCESS!!! He squealed like a little school girl!! WOOHOO!!
Mission accomplished. Not much money for ultimate payback. HAAAHAAAA !!

I bought this rat as an addition to my "pizza rat" handmade costume. Seems most people bought it as a prank to scare others with. No, it doesn't look very real up close (like others said, the cheap whiskers give it away) but the size is really big which made me happy for my purpose of being a giant NYC sewer rat. The thing I didn't expect was how much my cat loved it. I know that seems like a given, but he's 10 years old and somewhat past the "everything is a toy" stage of his life. OH MAN does he turn into a little kitten around this thing. The second I got it out of the package he was batting it around like crazy and doing flips. It was hilarious. And since halloween, I have left it out around the living room and he doesn't notice it much until I pull it out and toss it in the air - then that inner kitten returns for a good 10 minutes till his peabrain attention span moves onto something else. So, if you are looking for a new cat toy, this is a pretty good one at a decent price, imo.

I got this as a Halloween prop but it didn't last. Right out of the box my dog attacked it and didn't want to let it go - within minutes it was reduced to little pieces of fur and plastic. It reminded me of a cat toy. Plastic covered in fake fur.

The one I received had red plastic eyes unlike the dark ones seen in the provided photo. I had to use a black sharpie to blacken the eyes. I still give it four stars since the fake rat still did its job to scare and prank unsuspecting people. Was great for Halloween while giving out candy and treats to the kids.
