Great for specific uses. Not a cure-all

This tape is quite simple amazing. It's excellent for wires, pipes, hoses, etc. Pretty much anything with a relatively rigid backing can use this tape.

Pros:
- STRONG! Works VERY well for the advertised uses.
- Does not leave a residue when removed.
- colors allow for color-coding items.

Cons:
- It really does need to stick to itself - so it's not good for applications that require a strip of tape.
- Because it needs to stick to itself, it does not lend itself to small (as in tiny) projects. They can be done, however it is a challenge.

Overall great for electrical work, plumbing, other uses where you can wrap it around.

MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH IT before use - otherwise it won't stick properly.

Works as advertised

I bought the 6 rolls of as seen on TV silicone tape hoping it worked as advertised. I needed it for color coded wiring bundles on my 1929 street rod and guess what, it works as good as any electrical tape even better in fact because it stretches and seals moisture out.. I'm very happy with this purchase for the application I bought it for. I would recommed it if you have a specialty need as I do. Now on to water leaks etc. and see how it does there but I'm sure it will do as a temporary repair in that area.

This is not the replacement for duct tape since it cannot be used on a tear in a fabric cover, it only adheres to itself so it is good for wires, pipes, hoses etc. I used it on a pressurized hose and so far it has worked very well.

A fantastic product with 1000s of uses!

Silicone Fixit Tape

This tape is a truly versatile product that has endless applications. The product isn't an adhesive type holding aid but a roll of substance that bonds to itself. The product isn't messy or sticky so thumbs up for that, it doesn't leave residue if you take it off. The product is silicone in texture and very stretchy allowing you to tightly wrap it around almost anything. The product works by bonding to itself when wrapped over itself it will become seamless. I've had fun with the product and have used it for many purposes.

1) I've used it to seal the joints in my Christmas lights where I attach two strings of lights. The tape fastens the connection and completely waterproofed the cords. You can't even see the tape wrapped around as the tape bonds together.

2) I used it on my hockey stick to add a grip with much success. The tape made a silicone grip that's better than regular tap.

3) I'm currently using the tape to hold together a garden hose and have had no leakage. The tape seems to completely seal a break in the hose. Moisture and the cold have no effect on the tape.

4) I've fixed a dyson vacuum hose which is truly amazing since the air pressure is high. I simply wrapped one tight circle around the hose and it solved the problem. Another note is that just a single wrapped is sufficient on most jobs. You can put more if you want to but you can also be economic.

5) I also use the tape to fix a coat rack which is amazing. I broke a hook off rack but reattached it with the tape and it holds. I put a heavy wool coat on the rack and there is no stress on the tape at all.

I will defiantly be recommending this product to friends and family. I certainly will buy more as it's a great substitute for duct tape.

Great tape

I'm a sucker for useful stuff and I had used up a single roll of this fixing a garden hose/attachment, wrapping some mended headphone cables, reinforcing Apple power adapters, etc.... so naturally, 6 rolls seemed like a good idea ;)

I like the different colors! I probably won't go through this tape that fast at this point but I'm hoping, it being silicone, that it won't degrade for a long long time...like, er, never?

Good stuff! Follow the instructions -- at least at first -- and you'll get the hang of it.

Oh, for the uninitiated, this tape doesn't adhere to other stuff, it only really adheres to itself...so you can't tape surfaces! You can only really use this "tape" in situations where you wrap it around so it touches itself, some way or another... You do it tight and overlap and it will sort of self-adhere, self-seal... Really cool but, again, not for like fixing leaks in walls or surfaces!

Total waste of money!

The only good thing I can say about this product is that it did bind to itself when I wrapped it around my leaking hose. However, when I turned the facet on it sprang leaks in three different places. My husband thought I was crazy to order it, and I had to admit he was right. Save your money folks...this stuff is a joke. Hopefully someday they will come up with something that can stand up to water pressure, but today isn't that day evidently. Totally disappointed and disgruntled!

I'm Stuck on You (in my best Elvis voice)

I bought this tape due to having a leaky copper pipe that dripped water steadily into my dining room closet. I saw an ad on television for Mighty Fixit tape (being hawked loudly by the British guy); it's amazing abilities being lauded quite voraciously. As my first introduction for this product was an "As Seen on TV" commercial, I was skeptical about it's abilities to perform well.

Color me surprised.

This tape is absolutely wonderful. It only sticks to itself, and when it does, it is a solid bond. The tape is stretchy, too, so that you can securely wrap it around whichever surface you want. You may think that it only being able to stick to itself is counter-intuitive; this is definitely not the case. When stuck to itself, it is secure and water-tight, creating a seal that is better than nearly any standard tape on the market.

Thus far we have used this tape to repair the leaky pipe (works like a charm!), wrapped it around an electrical cord that a certain kitten decided to gnaw upon, and also used it to create a rubbery grip on a crochet hook.

Uses for this tape abound; use it to repair, create a comfort grip, even to render something waterproof. This stuff gives duct tape a run for it's money. Even after only a few uses today, this product has earned a coveted spot within my toolbox. I will definitely buy more when I run out. Every household should have a few rolls of this on-hand; be creative and I am sure that you will find just as many uses as I have, if not more!
