[Anyone remembers the old "I am not going to spend a lot for this muffler" commercial?]

Just in case someone may feel guilty for not paying a lot more for, basically the same thing, let's look at one of our top of the line offers in premium HDMI, Monster HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable (2 meters) and do a quick comparison.

For a lot less, the BLUE Advanced supports the HDMI 1.3a/b standard. Any HDMI 1.3 cable can carry up to 10.2 Gbit/s. Hmmm... I suppose the Monster is much better, right? Well... it "guarantees a certified cable bandwidth of 10.2" Okay, but the Monster also supports "x.v.Color, and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD". It turns out that, all of the above, and more, are part of the HDMI 1.3 specs and they are fully supported by every cable that complies to the standard and can be had for about 95% less in the Premium Gold. The expensive brand presentation simply enumerates the HDMI 1.3 specs as if it being HDMI 1.3 compliant was a really big deal. It is not a big deal. Even a cable that costs 95% less is HDMI 1.3 compliant.

My suggestion: if you think that the proponents of the expensive brand have a point when they claim that their product is a lot more durable, buy TWO Blue Advanced wires and still pay significantly less than half of what you would pay for one of the expensive ones.

My personal experience: I've never paid 'a lot' for an HDMI cable because it makes no sense to pay more. I took home one of the 'expensive' ones once because the salesman promised to take it back if I wasn't amazed by the difference. It made zero difference and I returned it.Read more ›

My HDMI cable makes my 40' Samsung sing!! The High Definition is Higher than anything Websters Dictionary could ever come up with! The price was right, the shipment speed was unbelievable and my Samsung and I are just as happy as if we were both in our right minds!!

I researched HDMI cables and found varied pricing locally as well as online shopping. With some research here and on Ebay I opted for this Cable. This cable performs excellently for the money. Some of what I learned is that the cable should be shielded so as not to pick up distortion from any surrounding cables, this includes other av, power, and the like. Since my Samsung is wall hung I didn't want any annoying cables between my DVR and DVD player. I used this 6'cable in the wall between an upper and a lower HDMI outlet. There are also other cables for sound and AV that occupy this same space so I needed the cable to be shielded. I also purchased two 3' from this same supplier figuring that the quality would be the same. The end result is a crystal clear HD picture with no distortion and hidden cables.

This item is every bit as good as a $50-$60 cable that Best Buy will try to sell you. Do not waste your money on some big name cable that will work just as good. I have them for all of my TV's and there has been no problems. Looks just as good as my Brother's $59.99 Monster cable from Best Buy. I would recommend to anyone.

I have had nothing but good things to say about monoprice products since I started buying all my AV cords and connectors from them about 5 yrs ago. They are consistently great products, and this is no exception. I chose this cable to run through my wall behind my tv because it is CL rated for doing so. This HDMI cable sends a perfect high-def picture and that's all you can ask for. With a digital signal like hdmi, there is no "picture quality" difference, you either get the picture or you don't. That's why there's no reason to buy expensive cables.

The difference here is not the quality compared to the name brands, especially that one company the big box stores always want you to buy, it's that you're not paying the middle man, the advertising and the mark up of the reseller.

Order Monoprice like I do and never look back.

I was having problems with flickering screen with my TV and roku. I looked around online and was recommended that I use this HDMI cord instead. Well, it works great! The flickering screen is gone! I purchased this in the red color, so now I can find the cord in the sea of other cords!

Works fine and the price is very reasonable. I tend to believe that you get what you pay for up to a point. With a cable that transfers digital information, I honestly don't buy the hype about needing a cable that costs half as much as a television set. This cable meets the specs my equipment requires and I've had no problems at all. My cable is in the most benign environment imaginable and isn't routinely unplugged and reconnected (or even moved), so I expect its useful life to exceed my own - at these prices, what more could anyone ask?
