I have been using the push connectors for a couple of years now. Those do not work well with lighting fixtures that have stranded wires. I can sometimes get it to work if I silver the stranded wires with solder, but with that level of effort, why bother not using standard wire nuts?

The best thing about these levernuts is being able to preattach them to the fixture's wiring before climbing the ladder. With a little forethought (threading through escutcheons and mounting plates/bars, opening the lever on the other terminal, and bagging the fixture to protect its finish), I can reduce time spent on the ladder by 80% or more.

This is not meant as a knock on the product: Be careful handling these because the levers can bite/pinch pretty hard.

Purchased this after seeing these demonstated on You Tube. I was re-wiring some closet light and expected to be able to just clamp down on the wire and have a connection. It just would not work. I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but I tried it with more than one of these. I was trying to use these with 12 guage electrical wire and it just would not work.
I could not recommend these for wiring home for light fixtures or electric boxes.

These are amazing. I used them to hook up the stranded wire from recessed LED lights to solid 12 awg copper. Just be careful then opening and closing them, they have a nasty bite if your finger is in the way.

These little clips are amazing for any project that requires a lot of testing and possible rewiring. I use them almost exclusively for installing car sound systems. After market equipment usually has to tie in with multiple systems on a new car, and often the instruction that come with wiring kits are hard to understand and sometimes incorrect. These clamp onto a wide range of wire gauges and grip tight, and they save so much time over cutting, stripping, and reconnecting wires where trial and error is just part of the job description.
