This is a bit under 4 pounds and I thought I was buying 2 of them but that's my mistake.
It's a dumbbell so there's not a lot more to say about it except that you would expect the weight of it to be accurate.
FYI...The scale I used to weigh it is extremely accurate. It's used for measuring out product (manufacturing) to the tenth of ounce.

These are fine and I've gotten used to them, but in the future I will continue to purchase dumbbells with a textured grip (like others I have). Fine for just light weight lifting but if I use these in an aerobic class they can get a bit slippery (I sweat a lot). I also find the handle portion a bit long for my hands -- too much extra space to either side of my hand when I'm holding them instead of a closer fit (also like some other weights I have).

Overall, I am pleased with my purchase of the plastic covered dumbbells. They're easy to clean, comfortable to grip for the most part, and basically just what I was looking for. The only thing disappointing about them (I ordered two 4-pound dumbbells) is that they have a few random sharp pieces of what seems to be metal poking through the plastic coating. It's not a deal breaker, and not enough to cause injury; I will keep them and I have been using them without major issues. I actually would have given them 5 stars instead of 3 stars if it weren't for the sharp pieces. I was considering ordering more in different sizes, and I probably still will.

The odor of these weights was impossible to handle. I could not keep them in the house. When placed on a tabletop, they made awful marks in the finish. I returned them.
