My mother always used powdered carpet deodorizer, we both have sensitive sinuses, and so it's really hard to find anything that doesn't bother us. All the other scents, while they smell really good, give me a terrible headache. I bought a container of this at a local store once, on a whim and it made my house smell great, it's really light, not overpowering at all. I have a friend who comes over now and lays on the floor instead of in a chair so she can smell my carpet (she's gotta be pretty close to smell it) The store near me stopped selling it and I haven't been able to find it for forever, I'm really excited to see it on here!

I have had a nasty smell coming from my apartment for a while now.
I really couldn't track down the smell as my nose would become used to it within seconds.
It was a musty, sour smell.
At first I though it was my plants.
Then I thought it might be the kitchen drains.
Then the garbage can.
The furniture?
The paintings on the wall?
The tv?
Did something die in the wall?
Uugh!!!
So I finally as a last resort decided it had to be the carpet.
I've been there for three years so I guess it would make sense even though I'm very careful about not walking on the carpet with my shoes on.
I bought some of this, sprinkled it about, waited five minutes and left for about an hour.
When I came back...no more sour smell.
My guess would be some of the water from my plants got into the carpet and there is mildew.
This got rid of the smell anyway.
Overall.........
Very nice.
Cheap.
Effective.
Recommended.

Great value vs buying individually. Fragrance is mild and wont last that long to irritate you.
Good for a about a week . Not friendly to vaccums. Be prepared to clean your filters after
using.

I absolutly love this product however the ad clearly states: Glade Tough Odor Solutions Carpet and Room,32-Ounce (Pack of 6) HOWEVER, when I recieved the product I only recieved 1. I can get this same size at the local store for less, I only made this purchase because it says PACK OF 6...guess the bottom line is...if it sounds to good to be true it certainly is. :(
(Update: Amazon is refunding a portion of my purchase for the mix up but still beware of what you are ordering on this ad...it is a package of ONE).

Smells good. I have 2 dogs, a great dane and a blue heeler. And the dane has been having abandonment issues when we're at work, and pottys inside.... leave it to say these are NOT little poops. She is the size of a small horse! Anyway, I complain to my boyfriend about how the house smells now, and he used this. It no longer smells like poop. Hooray!

I didn't really like this product (I like the Arm & Hammer carpet deodorizer better). Due to its design, the canister kind of just dumps a whole bunch of powder versus "sprinkling" it over the carpet Because of that, it doesn't last very long, and it takes a few vacuums to pick up all the powder. I find that even after the second or third time vacuuming, there's still a bunch of powder that my vacuum is picking up (and I have a pretty good Dyson Vacuum too!!). My carpet also feels like it's covered with powder, even after vacuuming several times, so in a sense, it kind of feels "more dusty"??. Sorry for the terrible description, lol. The scent is okay - just a neutral linen smell. My recommendation is to go to Target or Walmart and pick up a bottle of this for like, $1.39.

Can't say if this works any better than plane bakiing soda or not. I do have dogs and thought maybe this would clear up the air. It did help clear the smell from my vacuum cleaner. Not sure why with the fancy filter bags and discharge filters on the last couple Sears vacuums I've used, but there is an odor that is rather pronounced. Even changing vacuum bags doesn't seem to help, but this Glae Fresh did the trick. Maybe it's from the dog hair in the vacuum and not so much the carpet, but I can vacuum again without the funky smell and get much better life out of the vacuum bags.
