    The New Balance 577 are a great pair of shoes. I am wearing them daily due to 3 foot surgeries in the last couple of years. They have a nice wide toe box which make them very easy and compfortable for me to wear,

    This Shoe seams seperated within 6 months will no longer purchase New Balance products.
    pictures shows no wear on soul...But uppers are just comming apart.

    I ordered these shoes Again. Im going to give them a try Again. Amazon is amazing. I reordered these dhoes on the 7th got them on the 8th.

    I would like to remark about the wonderful experience I have had with the model 577. What an outstanding product. The toe box is wonderful for comfort during sustained walks and just everyday use. I would venture to say it may very well be the most comfortable shoe my feet have ever felt. I can't say how easy walking has become because of the comfort this model provides for me. I hope they keep making it because when this pair goes, I will certainly want a replacement. They are MADE IN BOSTON too which enhances the whole experience.

    I have had many pairs of New Balance shoes and many models. This one fits my needs perfectly!Age 76 and averagimg 4 miles daily!

    I weigh about 240, so I go through shoes pretty quickly. Old or bad shoes make me tire out too quickly, and can actually ruin my day. With shoes I make an extra effort to find the best balance between cost, comfort and durability. I prefer certain Nike models, because they fit well, feel good, and last for several months with every day use, but they cost more. Most of the New Balance shoes that I have bought in the past felt as good as the Monarchs, and they cost less, but they don't last as long. Still, the price difference was enough to justify buying New Balance and getting a new pair a little more often. But this pair of New Balance started feeling like older shoes in just a week or so. They weren't even broken in well. I fear that the manufacturer has already started riding on their good name and cutting quality (but I don't know that for a fact). It's not a bad shoe, and for people who aren't overweight or who might only wear then every now and then it would probably be fine. But it's not a good every day shoe for me.

    I have bought the New Balance 812 which is the top of the line in walking shoes. I figured I'd try these. They are half the price and pretty good. Very similar. Not quite as comfortable as the 812'S though.

    Upper separated from lower within six months of occasional, casual usage. Not covered under amazon return, guess I will try and contact the manufacturer.

    Update: It appears that CS may be the companies shining star. They are crediting the full purchase price. I'll try another pair and report back.

    I have tried two more pairs since this review and all have failed in about 6 months from purchase. Failure mode is always the same....the uppers delaminate from the sole. NB needs to examine the adhesives and techniques used in the assembly of these shoes. No more for me. Back to Rockport.

    Have worn these shoes at work since receiving. Quality, well-made shoe, very durable and very comfortable. Work four ten-hour shifts with about 75% of my time on my feet on hard surfaces. Fit and felt like a cushioned glove on when I first put on and since. Great shoe, especially if you spend a lot of time on your feet.

    It's important to give shoes some time before reviewing them. I wear these for work about 3 times a week, I'm on my feet the whole time. The toes of these shoes started to point upwards, the whole sole began a permanent bend towards the sky! Ridiculous. No idea why, but it's very uncomfortable now. Would never recommend these to anyone. Terrible design.
