Great for using on chalkboards at home

I bought these for writing on a chalkboard and I love them. They sharpen easily with a regular pencil sharpener. Chalkboard items have become very popular for the home but I didn't want to always have messy chalk fingers from chalk sticks, so I looked into other options and found these. There are also markers that are somewhat like a paint pen, but some reviewers said they were hard to erase. These pencils are just plain chalk in place of graphite. The pencils themselves are only painted white, you won't be touching the chalk.

Great option to tailors chalk

Got these for my 3rd-5th graders to draw their designs on black t-shirts before painting. They served their purpose well. Easily writes on fabric, very prominent. I needed more than 4, so I cut them in half and had 8, worked out perfectly. Sharpened easily in my electric sharpener, just made sure not to push too hard. Can easily remove from fabric by washing or wiping off with damp cloth, but rather than using a damp cloth to wipe off if made a mistake, found that it was easy to remove if you rubbed the area with a dry cloth or rubbed the shirt together. That way the kids didn't have to wait for the shirt to dry before continuing. So much better than tailors chalk because they're much easier to control if you need to make a finer, more detailed marking (or draw a picture). One tip, if you are using it to draw a picture or something similar, put a piece of cardboard underneath, it helps keep the fabric flat. With our shirts, we stuck pieces of cardboard (even a thinnish box) inside the shirt to make it easier to draw, it worked out perfectly.

I use this to mark my top area for appliques ...

I use this to mark my top area for appliques and embroidery items before hooping. that way when hooped on machine i know far up to go and it comes off ok...so long as i dont press too hard..but even so it will come off first wash.

water soluble chalk marking pencils are great

I like these pencils a lot since they do not break easily like plain chalk markers and they are easy to sharpen. They mark well. I was glad to find them on Amazon since they are difficult to find. The white color I use for dark fabric especially black fabric when making continuous bias tape. The silver color, which is also available, I use on colored, white, and tie dyed fabric.

This is my favorite brand of water soluble chalk marking pencils. I had friends recommend them to me as they had been sewing and quilting much longer than I and when I began stocking my new sewing room that my husband built me with notions this is what they recommended. I did try some others when I ran out of these and was disappointed so I have never let that happen again. This is all I use ans I have a drawer full.

Don't get for plastic!!!

I'm not water soluble on plastic! Permanent on plastic! I learned the hard way! What a waste. Maybe on cloth but def don't buy this if your plan on using it on plastic.
