These were a big improvement to the beat-up tuners on my old Epiphone. I finally got around to replacing the old ones and these were at the top of my list as they were recommended by a friend who used them on his custom build.
They were a bit stiff at first, but after you work them a few times, they get much smoother (a little 3-in-1 oil probably wouldn't hurt).
When it comes to looks, I actually prefer them to the standard Grover Rotomatics. They have a much more interesting look, and the open gears are a perfect fit for an old acoustic that needs an upgrade.

Overall... I've no problems with them after a few weeks, and both myself and my other guitarist friends have been impressed with the simple, but good-looking design, and the tuning stability they provided for my beat-up little Epiphone.
If I'm in the market for tuners soon, I'll be looking at these again.

These tuning machines are fine replacements for the original tuning pegs that were installed on my 1953 model Martin 00-18 guitar. Installation didn't require more than reaming out the holes in the Martin's head piece so that the bushings that came with the Grover tuners would fit properly to support the Grover's spindles. The screw holes on the back flanges were pretty close to the originals but I still chose to fill the old screw holes and drill pilot holes for the Grover's mounting screws. In retrospect I really didn't have to do that but I did anyway. Re-strung the guitar and for the first few days a little re-tuning was needed due to the new strings stretching a bit but in the last couple of weeks very little re-tuning has been required. Sta-Tite means what it says and the 18:1 gear ratio has meant much more accurate pitch adjustment. I'm very impressed and satisfied with the product.

These tuners are rock solid and look great on both Electric and Acoustic guitars. I have used them to replace stock tuners on my Gretsch and my expensive Maritn guitars with zero regrets. They are simple, smooth, and the ratio allows you not only to play in tune, but to locate any other issues on the guitar that may be causing the issue, because you can be certain it's not the tuners. For what you get, these are the best deal going related to guitar hardware. Excellent tuners.

I replaced the stock tuners on a Chinese Epi Casino. Right away, I could tell a better response while tuning the instrument. With brand new strings and only minimal stretching, the strings hardly slipped as I tugged and played them for about 30 minutes. Some tuners felt a little tighter than others, but they all rotated smoothly. I have yet to try the guitar with the new tuners in a gig or practice situation, but I feel confident they will be an improvement over the stock heads. The grommett may be a little big on the peg hole for your instrument, but the tension of the string should hold it in place. You could probably put something to add grip to really lock it in. I would be careful when changing strings as to not let one fall out onto the floor and be lost forever. The shape the button is a little ugly. I would have preferred something a little more round, but this does not affect the performance. I would put these on another guitar if I could. The exposed gears add a nice vintage look and decrease some weight on the headstock. All said, the 18:1 ratio is the way to go for sure.

I bought these to replace the Grovers on my new Gretsch Alligator resonator. Gretsch had installed Ukelele tuners which, being designed for nylon strings, did not hold the tuning well with steel strings. These have made a stunning difference and are a recommended upgrade!!

I bought these tuners to replace the factory ones on my Hofner Contemporary Beatle bass. They are a near perfect replacement for the originals, except the posts are a slight bit smaller. I wrapped one layer of tape around them, and they fit perfectly. The machines are extremely smooth, and stay in tune great. It's hard to believe that you can get this quality for the price.

Needed some tuners to replace a broken set on my Hofner, and these fit the bill nicely.

Much smoother and stronger than the original tuners, I was able to fit the notoriously high tension Nylon Tapewound strings
without any trouble whatsoever.

Even you're tuners are in good shape, these are a considerate upgrade in quality from the presumably off brand tuners that come on the Ignition/Hi Series B-Bass.

wow what a difference these tuners make! no more tuning problems , intonation dead on, buzzing gone too.
I have an Epiphone Casino with Bigsby, last year changed the stock tuners with 15:1 Grover 135N Tuners, big difference but still not to happy so i ordered the 18:1 ratio Grover V97-18N Sta-Tite , wow all problems gone ! strings , rotosound yellow also great and both the new tuners make the Casino a great sounding beautiful instrument
