    These are so cute, and sturdy with the movement of a sneaker. I bought these for my grandson and he loves them. The only complaint i have so far about these are the shoe laces. I don't understand how tightly double tied shoe laces can come undone but they do with these timbs. Only time will tell how long they hold up. I ordered a whole size bigger than what my grand baby wears. he's a 11 .5.

    His dad, my son wanted Timberlands for his son rather than boots. My grandson is 2. Sturdy beautiful leather shoes and he can easily walk in them. He'll outgrow these before he out wears them. This was Christmas Day. He was outdoors playing with his dad's radio controlled trucks.

    My 3 year old has probably hiked at least 15 miles in these so far over the last few months. No complaints from him. These are waterproof, and it works well. He splashed in a lot of puddles and his socks were still dry. (We mainly hike river banks and forest trails.) These are keepers, and I'm going to order another pair in a larger size for when he grows out of his current ones.

    Got these for my grandson. They are great, Timberland quality. They fit just like I wanted them to. We do a lot of hiking and he has gotten to the age that he needs a good pair of boots. These are waterproof and have a good tread pattern. These should open up some new adventures for us. Also, they are a good price/value, which is important because at that age their feet grow so fast that they won't fit for too long. I got them a bit large to last a while, but they still offer good support.

    I didn't keep these boots for my son cause I wanted to avoid the laces for a bit longer. But these are really nice and I'd buy them again in the future. They were good looking, true to size and not bulky. Maybe a tad heavy over a tennis shoe but nothing too bad there either.

    We recently purchased Timberland Back Road Hikers and are extremely disappointed in the quality of the shoes we received. Our son has worn this exact model shoe for at least 3 years and they have always been of excellent quality and extremely durable, showing almost no wear before he outgrew them each time. We selected these shoes based on their consistent quality. However, this pair of shoes must be defective! Our son was excited to receive his new shoes in the mail yesterday, only to have them begin to self destruct today. Yes, he is 6 and he is does play outside, but hiking boots should certainly last more than one day before chunks start falling off! The rubber around the toe of this pair of shoes is made of a far inferior, product that I hope is just a “bad batch” We also could not believe that the “non-marking soles” are leaving black stripes all over our floor! I sincerely hope that this is merely a defective product and not a sign of declining quality of the Timberland brand.

    A bit on the narrow size but these are excellent hiking boots that got a lot of use on trails and rough terrain and still look as good as new. These will be passed along to his little sister for sure!

    I absolutely loved these for my little guy while he was in preschool. They kept his feet warm, comfy, dry and well supported. We live in Chicago and brought these around Fall. They weren't heavy and I never heard a complaint about his feet hurting. With that said he's in 1st grade now and I'm current searching for them in a bigger size. These are a great buy for hiking and semi slushy snow.
