We have the other two blasters but we deicded to go out and get the XRanger because it looked so cool. Shooting distance is AMAZING. The shoulder stock really helps and makes aiming a lot easier than the smaller xploderz. great toy!

Its a perfect niche between paintball and retrievable shooting games like Nerf. You do not have to spend all day picking up pieces of foam or pellets and cleanup is pretty much noting - the balls explode and essentially disappear (as the water evaporates they shrink and biodegrade into nothing). Also you can play pretty much anywhere which is cool, the range is descent, you know when you get hit but you are not bruised (if you want to up the antsy wear white and hydrate the ammo with grape juice/cranberry juice). Final plus you did not spend a fortune and had craZy fun!

I bought two of these for my friends' sons and they loved them! The range on the Xploderz is amazing - they love using them in the park so that they can run around. The water gel ammo is also great. The boys love them because you feel the hits but they don't hurt. Us adults love them because they don't require any cleanup!

I love it! When the bullets hit you it doesn't hurt so you can have a war with your friends. You get 4 packs of 500 beads.
When you put it in the huge case and add water to it,4 hours later you have your ammo and each little pack lasts for a while.I love it. AWSOME!

This was the third Xploderz blaster I bought my son. He has the two smaller blasters and begged me for four weeks until I got this one. He is now saving his money for the $50 one he saw on TV. We are not a "gun" family, and I never bought guns for my first son. But I have to admit that this is a fantastic toy--innovative and super fun. The kids are staging huge battles in the backyard, competing how far they can shoot, and they never seem to run out of ammo. Growing the ammo is also part of the attraction.

This gun is okay. My 11-year-old son was really excited to get this and try out growing the beads (bullets) and firing them off at a target. Unfortunately the gun jams a lot and the bullets don't launch out with that much force to splat the ball. They usually shoot out and drop on the ground. Pretty uneventful. Growing the bullet beads is fun but you can't get them out of the container unless you transfer them to the gun cartridge. Because the gun jams so often we still haven't gone through one of the cartridges of beads. My son just ended up growing the beads in a bowl and playing with those floating in water. That's the only highlight. I wouldn't recommend this gun. The novelty wears off after about an hour.

Hi,

I'm an adult (a kid at heart still) and my girlfriend (also a kid at heart) and I bought this at a discount at a store just for fun.

Of course, the packaging and photos make this thing look amazing. Hey, it fooled us two adults into buying it.

There is no actual trigger on this gun. Instead, you pull back a lever ("Power Arm") and release it to shoot. This makes sense for the ammo to reach the "up to 85 feet" that it claims. However, the ammo, which are gelly, water-based spheres, "XPLODZ" before it even leaves the chamber. So, instead of one round firing straight out, you get pieces of one that fire in all different directions. I'd say one out every 10 rounds fired were actually shot as the product intended. The ammo is really soft so it won't hurt kids but it's not tough enough to take the air pressure used to fire it. I'm not sure if all of the guns in this line are like this but this was a waste of time (and we obviously had a lot of time to kill).

Aiming is another thing. This is a bit much to demand from a kid's toy. But, since you're pulling a lever and not a trigger, it throws off your aim a little. Like I said, it's not like it's a life or death situation when you're shooting this thing. But, that would be pretty cool to be able to use the aiming aspects of this gun.

We thought about giving it my 7-year-old nephew after we rendered it useless but I didn't want to subject him to this yawnfest of a toy. I would recommend going for any Nerf gun since I remember having those as a kid and never having issues with it.

I bought this gun a couple weeks ago and it's awesome!!!! The gun shoots really fast with great force yet water-based ammo is perfectly safe. It really has incredible range, shoots farther than other NERF guns and holds way more ammo. The setup is incredibly versatile and their are so many realistic setups. With additional ammo clips, it's hours of fun for our kids. Definitely recommend this gun!!!
