I feel it works better than the traditional standard

I use these as a lube of sorts on metal files for jewelry making. They keep the teeth from clogging and make the strokes very smooth. I feel it works better than the traditional standard, chalk.

They came with about two-thirds busted up, but it's soapstone. Who uses a whole stick? I usually use it in smaller pieces any way, so this isn't a concern. This stone marks well.
