As many other Fiskars branded scissors already have in their reviews, you need to be careful with this brand. Fiskars has moved production to China and their current offers are nothing like the quality and reliability you'd get from the original versions, which were made in Finland using Swedish steel.

I happen to have such a pair, picked it up in a brick and mortar tonight. It's marked as being from 2009, so I would imagine that's why it still has "Made in Finland" on it (and the packing). To be clear, I'm not bashing the product, they are absolutely top notch, exceedingly sharp and superbly crafted, probably the best I've ever owned. I just want people to be aware that what you order today from online retailers might not be old stock, it might be the new made-in-China version, of which I can only warn you away from.

So, bottom line, if you can locate some Finnish originals, these are worth every penny and then some, which is why I give them 5 stars. If you can find nothing but the Chinese-made, cheap version they sell today, pass on it and spend your money somewhere else.

The point on these scissors, as well as the blade, is sharp - not for children! I don't sew often, or that much when I do, so I didn't expect to use these much, but they are very useful in lots of ways that I couldn't have anticipated - any time you need a small scissors that is sharp, very sharp, look for these. I have several pairs of regular sized Fiskars, but these are invaluable, and well-made - I've had them for several years and they're still sharp.

If you've read any of the customer reviews for this particular item, you'll understand when I say "I got lucky!" My scissors as well as the packaging say made in Finland. I've yet to buy/use a pair of Fiskars scissors that I wasn't happy with. (My most favorite were purchased on a whim off of a closeout table. They are unique in that the blades slide into a magnetic backed holder allowing one to stick it to the fridge or wherever you feel the handiest location might be. They're five years old, I use them literally every day (kitchen stuff only) and they are still as sharp as ever.)

But I digress. I bought the "No. 5 Stitcher Scissors" to use strictly for cutting decoupage. The stainless blades are super sharp with sharp points. The blades move effortlessly and are perfect for my chosen use. I see two improvements that could be made. 1) Comfort grip handles would be welcome. These are the standard orange plastic. 2) They're so small and sharp I wish they had a protective plastic piece to slide the blades into. Since they do not, I'm keeping mine in an old hard eyeglasses case which works nicely. Needing a pair of back ups so I'm never without (like this last time) please see my review for EK Tools Precision Scissors, Small, New Package. I think they are superior to the Fiskars. All my reviews are posted as Serious Shopper.

These are super sharp, and easy to handle. They cut very sharply and evenly to the very pointy-tipped end. So pointy that you probably ought to keep it from children, the point is finer than with most other cheaper varieties. It's Swedish-Finnish as of May 2015 (blade says "Stainless Finland" and the package mentioned steel was Swedish).

Excellent scissors. Other than 2 or 3 models of large sewing shears, these are the only Fiskars scissors that are not made in China. Get 'em while you still can! There is a difference in quality. Fiskars quietly touts their "Made in Finland" status on their website. They can't say it too loud or it would make the other scissors look bad in comparison.

Another great product from Fiskars! These are small and sharp, so just what I needed to snip the edges of my rag quilt. Easy on the fingers and hand while sniping/cutting your thread or material, as well as a good price. I've bought expensive scissors to cut material, but for the money these work just as well. Save your hard-earned dollars for something else!

I saw some reviews saying these were now made in China. The pair I purchased of these excellent scissors and say made in Finland and appear to be the same awesome quality of the last pair I purchased over 10 years ago.

Just super sharp. Great for my jewelry tool box to cut threads and stringing materials without fraying them. I was a bit concerned because people said they're made in China but have used these for a few weeks and they're great. I love Fiskars. I want to own all of their items to cut things I don't even that I'll cut yet!
