Top Customer Reviews

Organic, cold-pressed (or expeller pressed) canola oil is recommended by physicians such as the authors of "YOU: On a Diet The Owner's Manual for Waist Management," for its healthful benefits, and this one does have a truly neutral taste. I use it when I do not want the oil to impart any flavor to the food, such as in baking or in preparing homemade cold cereal and snack mixes. To me, regular canola oil adds an oddly unpleasant flavor to mild foods. This one does not. It is not cheap, although I can buy it for about this price ($7.59 for 16 oz. at writing) at Publix while the 32 oz. bottle is only $12.29.

This oil is a good source of Omega-3. It contains 4g of polyunsaturated and 9g of monunsaturated fats to 1g of saturated fat per tablespoon. According to the label, a third pary has verified that the oil is made from canola that was not genetically engineered. The label includes the NON GMO Project verified certificate, as well as USDA Organic logo and a statement that it is certified organic by QAI.

It takes considerable time, effort, and money to be certified as organic in this country. By definition, organic means non-GMO. The seed must be organic, the soil it's grown in must not have pesticides or herbicides other than those certified for organic growing, and of course no pesticides or herbicides can be added to the crop other than those certified for organic growing. This oil is certified organic. Canola oil is one of the healthiest oils around. But I definitely would never use any other than organic canola oil, since I avoid GMOs.
