The V7 8GB USB flash drive is a solid performer. It's not flashy, it has no bells and whistles, and it's a very mundane black color. But all that's expected of USB drives is the ability to reliably read and write data, and based on the limited tests I did, it met my expectations. I appreciate that the manufacturer didn't install any crapware on the drive. Only 4,096 KB are used for overhead, with 7.42 GB available for data. The drive is formatted for FAT32 in a single partition.

In the retracted position, the V7 drive measures 2.0"x0.8"x0.35". The end of the drive has slots for attaching a lanyard (not included). The thumb-operated retractor switch has a positive feel, making it easy to retract the USB plug when not needed. My only slightly negative comment is that the drive's capacity is not labeled, so if you had more than one of these, you would need to add a label or marking to identify them.

The V7 USB drive appears to be a solid performer in a growing field of USB drives.

This is a simple and easy to use USB thumb flash drive that is 8 GB in size. I like retractable USB plug thumb drives as long as the USB connector stays extended when you try to plug it in and this one does. It is a reasonable size and it had OK writing speeds. It is slower than some of my other thumb drives but it does sell for less. The performance was good in my speed tests and I have included the information in my video for your information. The best write speed was 4979 MB/Sec and the best read speed was 16735 MB/Sec.

The specs state that the data retention is 10 years and the product has a 5 year limited warranty. This is a good product and it worked well in my testing. I rated it 5 stars.

I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation and I promised a fair and honest review.

This flash drive is priced right and works well. I put it on my keychain so I can use it whenever I need to move files. It is also small enough that you can plug two of them in to your laptop next to each other.

Well this thing feels cheap. The plastic at least. It weighs like a feather, literally. Cheap design.. but enough to do its job. If I could go back I would not order one of these again. I'll use this as a backup. The reason is, the read/ write speeds are horrible. Too slow for my liking. Maybe I'll get a more well known brand. I got this because I liked the way it looks- black-obsidian color. Other thumb drives are usually colored or bulky.. oh well.

pros: it works

cons: cheap, slow read/ write speeds

Hi all,
I just ordered this USB 5 days ago. I just got it today. I am very happy because I received it so fast. But only one thing that I don't like that the USB is only 7.53GB available. It is not 8GB as it is posted on the web. But when I connected into my computer, the USB device showed empty. It is weird.
