Amazing sound quality. Only down side is that the speaker wires are pre connected and cannot be customized without splicing. Read some reviews that said it needed an amp/receiver. Not true at all it had incredibly loud potential. Haven't been able to turn it up past 40 (it goes to 60) without it hurting my ears/rumbling the foundation of my house. Comes with a digital audio 1/8 inch jack to RCA cable, once again not too long. Minor things. The positives highly outweigh the negatives (not too many of those) had a Yamaha system that cost three times as much and was 1/2 the quality. I recommend highly.

Update 11/01/2011 Speaker system has major flaws I overlooked initially:

1) Does not have the ability to power off, only to remain on standby, causing it to flash and annoy me in a dark room. This also caused it to overheat and malfunction, after one week of owning this system it no longer works, I can only faintly hear any noise with it turned all the way up. Returning Item to amazon to pursuit a better deal.

These speakers are something incredible. They re much better than many more expensive speakers in the market.
Pros:
* Clear sound, powerful, with good definition.
* You can set the speaker volume independently.
* Remote Control.
* 5.1 + RCA inputs + Auxiliar input (Left and Right)
* The speakers do not distort.
* A powerful subwoofer with very good low.
Cons:

* Short cord (the cable from the speakers left, right and center are not more than 5 feet and the back of no more than 7').
* Does not have Coaxial or Optical input for receiving a digital signal.

This is an excellent speakers systems. I have it installed on a 28 mts2 family room and the sound is really big. The subwoofer make vibrate the glass accessories of the room. It has more quality than many of the most expensive equipment on the market. Now, I have to buy a signal converter stereo to 5.1 surround to get you maximum advantage of this set of speakers

Anyone would think that a set of speakers with 18lbs (small speakers, small magnets) can not be so much quality but is the opposite. I recommend this product for its sound quality, power and clear sound.

I bought this surround sound to go with the new flat screen TV I bought for my husband for Christmas. We put this in our finished room in the basement. We had been planning on this ever since we bought this house three years ago. When I hooked up this surround sound, which was very easy to do because all the cords were there, I turned on the television and followed the directions that came with the surround sound and it was unbelievable. One of the things I liked about it the most was the fact that you could change the volume on the speakers independently which I couldn't do on my system upstairs. The other thing I liked was the way you could change where the sound came from ( front, rear, or everwhere ). I guess the only drawback that I really found with the system was with the speakes that go behind your head, not because there was anything wrong with them, but they just do not have enough speaker wire to really go anywhere, if they had more wire so you could hand them up or at least run them across the room then it would be a lot better. That was truly the only negative thing I have found with the system. If you are looking for a really good surround sound at a really good price this is the one to get.

I bought this item twice. The first time I just though the unit was damaged, but after the second time, there was no coincidence. Both times the problem was the same, after having it turned on overnight or just a couple of days, one of the speakers starts producing noise , even with no audio signal , just powered on . It was not a speaker malfunction , since changing the speaker will not fix the problem

There you go. All you need. The most confusing part for me - was all the cables- thinking I needed them all used and which was right.
The aux was what I wanted. The DVD spots are for fancy players where each speaker is split. Not what I have. Problem solved.
Second was - still only sound in two speakers - what did I do wrong? Video helped once again.
Gotta change modes from 2.1 over to 5.1 with a click of a button. All five working.
I was about to be frustrated till I found this help from the company online. Very happy now.
- now I can say the quality yet cause I need to use them more. But day one - installation - not too shabby.

I got this for my husband for Christmas and first of all the wires for the speakers and sub are not long enough if you have a tv on your wall. We hung the speakers up and went to plug in the cord and the cord BROKE OFF into the tv causing us to have to take the TV down and take the whole back off to get the little piece out that broke off. I would not recommend this to anyone even if you are just looking for a cheap surround system. The directions were not clear enough as to what goes where and how to plug it up. I will be returning this and getting my money back to get one from somewhere else.
