I think this may be a bit over designed. My previous telescoping lure retriever (at least 25 years old) was much light (less than 1/2 the weight) and much thinner. It lasted for 25 years in hard use. This one is much larger in diameter and heavier in weight. That said, it is really rock solid. If it were a bit lighter I would give it 5 stars.

It is alot heavier then my old one. I have 2 others 1 is very lite alumiunum the other bigger 1, but not as big and heavy as the Frabill The Frabill would work well on a quite lake in a river or wind lake. It would be hard to use.
