Description
All K&H Thermo-Kitty Beds are comfortable all-season beds. This cozy bed envelops your kitty in a bed of heated comfort with heater on, or remove heater easily when weather is warmer.
The K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed and the K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed Deluxe both include a one-piece pillow and inside fleece comes over the top for an appealing look. These beds feature a soft, fluffy polyfilled pillow for cloud-like sleepy comfort. The entire cover is removable for machine wash by unzipping out the inside ortho-foam wall and pet bed warmer. The dual thermostat 4-watt heater warms the surface to 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature. When it is in use, it heats to complement the body temperature range of your pet.
The Deluxe Model
The K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed Deluxe offers all of the comforting features of the original Thermo-Kitty Bed, but incorporates a zip-off hood. The removable hood caters to your pets desire to curl in and feel secure and warm.
Cleaning is a breeze
The Thermo-Kitty Bed is a snap to clean. Remove the heater by locating and unzipping the zipper on the sleeping surface pillow inside the bed. Unzip the zipper on the bottom of the bed and remove the foam walls. Throw the cover in the washer on gentle cycle cold water and use a mild detergent. Line dry or dry in your dryer on the no heat cycle.
Please Note: Do not wash heater, do not wash foam walls.

I purchased the 16-inch bed for our small, 15-year-old cat because we live in New England and we keep our thermostat at 55 while we're at work and while we're sleeping. Needless to say, our cat is always seeking warm spots during the winter, such as our laps, the heat registers, sunny patches, etc. I also suspect that she has a touch of arthritis, so I thought maybe the warmth would provide some relief. We just received this bed yesterday and she already loves it! The heater is activated by the cat's weight, so before I introduced her to it I left a couple of throw pillows on top of it for about half an hour so that she would instantly feel the warmth. I put her in it, she started purring and kneading, and then she curled right up and took a nap. She spent almost all of today in the bed, either sleeping or looking out the window. I'm so glad I bought it for her.
I had worried about a cat bed with a heating pad in it, since cats tend to knead their bedding. However, the foam that covers the heater is very thick, and my cat has been kneading with no problems. Some reviewers have complained that the bed isn't very warm, but it's not supposed to feel hot like a regular heating pad. It only gets up to temperature when the cat is in it. You can test it by leaving a heavy pillow on top of it for half an hour and then putting your hand under the pillow. If your heating unit is functioning properly, you will feel a soft warmth.
One more note: if you have a very large cat (like a Maine Coon), or if you want a couple of kitties to snuggle together, get the larger version. The 16-inch version is perfect for my small cat, and I think it would be perfectly cozy for an average-size cat, but it would be a very tight squeeze for a big cat or more than one cat.Read more ›

This bed is awesome! I noticed some reviewers saying that they couldn't get their cats to use it, so I wanted to address that. I have two cats, and one of them is a very frail, arthritic 11-year old female who has always REFUSED to go near any cat beds. (She is extremely stubborn.) She was constantly cold and would always steal our seats on the leather couch after we were sitting on it, which got really annoying. She also harrasses our male cat out of his spot after he warms it up, lol.
I knew I would have trouble adjusting her to this bed. So when the Amazon box came, I very casually opened it in front of her while completely ignoring her. When she sniffed the bed, I told her "no, Misty, that's Mommy's bed." LOL I rubbed a little catnip on it, plugged it in and my male cat got in it. This time when Misty came around I told her "No, Misty, that's Shadow's bed." Needless to say, she decided it was HER bed, and so now we're all happy!
A few other reviewers complained that the bed doesn't get warm enough. I disagree. When not in use, the bed stays relatively room temperature-ish, but after the cat gets in, it warms to 102. any warmer would be bad for the cat. This is a great product, and it shipped really fast!
