This spray paint is exactly what I needed. It went on like a charm. If you know how to use spray paint then please disregard all the poor ratings. Spray paint needs to be shaken for more than a minute or two. You also need to spray 6 inches or so from the object being painted. I used 3 cans to paint a bumper cover for an 05 Prius. I put on 4 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear coat. If you know what you are doing then it works great. If not then maybe you shouldn't be doing it.

My personal experience is that there are a lot of vatriables involved in automotive touch up and repair painting so I'll give you some background. Car is 14 years old and is garaged, the original finish has stayed in excellent condition except for weathered plastic rearview mirror housings which I re-painted years ago with a generic color because they did not have to match the body perfectly. Had a fender bender a short while back which crunched my plastic rear bumber (it is body color). Had the 'dent' taken out with a heat gun, but the paint was a mess about 12 inches by 24 inches . Ordered this item using 1C4 Toyota color code from tag on door frame and clear coat. Preped area with 350 grit sand pad then 600 sandpaper all by hand. Cleaned area with medium rubbing compound and rough paper shop towels, washed and thoroughly dried (painting is about prep!), Masked at side panel seam but NOT back of bumber where old-new finish came together, when for a blend. Sprayed 4 coats following directions on drying times, then 3 coats of Dupli-color Clear Coat, again following directions. Amazed at perfect color match, low light or sunshine. The clear coat is NOT quite aa shiny as original after appliying an initial applications, but I will wait 48 hours for a blonger dry cycle and then do fine rubbing compound and wax and I'm sure the CC shine will increase. Can't get over the color match from a spary can! This is a difficult metallic color - CC combination and you cannot see any color transition between the two on the back bumper at all. So nice to be surprised. It's a winner so far.

I had to replace a driver side mirror after it was damaged. I got a unpainted replacement and install it last November and just painted it 2 weeks ago. Color match is great. No problems so far. I still have paint left over for fixing chipped spots now.

I bought a case a few weeks ago because I was painting a bumper for my car (pictured). The fist 6 cans were great, despite drips, and the nozzle getting clogged (things I expected). I thought I'd only use a couple of cans to paint it, but 6 cans later it wasn't complete...silly me. The color matched pretty well to the car (keep in mind the cars paint has age, and a tad bit of oxidation). First case, 5 out of 5. Was pleased. Now onto the second case I purchased. Same color, same seller, same everything, but definitely not the same result. I wanted to correct some flaws and add another (final) coat, and not only did this paint not correct flaws, it actually flawed the entire bumper (pictured below). I'm assuming the paint was expired, brought up several times I never even thought to read about and take into consideration. The paint hazed my entire bumper that I spent nearly a month repairing and prepping for paint. This paint is trash. Not dupli color, this specific case of 6 cans. I know you're thinking "he probably tried one can" I actually tried several, all the same result. Pretty upset about it, I'm in the process do wet sanding it to bring the old coat back some, I'm mildly successful. What a pain, very disappointed. Pretty discouraged as well with completing the project because of this.

Color was close to the old one> If your car is your temple take it to a shop to be repainted but if your car is old and is looked at as utilitarian, use this and no need for clear coat. I used it to stop rust from spreading on a few spots on my car. I barely notice the difference.

Wasn't too runny as some have mentioned, put on about 3-4 coats, just don't put it on too thick; hold about 8-10" away, using quick and straight strokes in the same direction. I used the dupli-color clear coat once it was dry and the part I used it on looks fantastic.

This is automotive paint which typically runs thinner than the stuff you're used to in a spray can. The key is to prep your vehicle for the paint, shake the can thoroughly, then spray at least 3-4 thin coats. It's worked great for me!

I ordered this product and the sprayer was faulty resulting on a gloppy treatment to the paint coming out. What is most disappointing is I tested it first on a piece of cardboard and all was well. A moment later, I sprayed on my vehicle and after a few seconds, the sprayer clogged and started "spitting" paint creating a mess. - Not impressed...
