"Mighty Fixit" is on of the few "As Seen On TV" products that actually worked well for me. After using this for several repairs, this has earned a place in my "qucik fix" tool box.

The package contains three 10' rolls of the tape in Red, Blue, and Yellow color, but I would have preferred White and\or Black to better match the items being fixed. Using the tape is easy, clean the surface (really important), just cut off a length of the tape, begin to wrap the tape (removing the protective plastic protective shield as you go), and stretch the tape, overlapping it as you cover the damaged area.

This works well on hoses and electric cords, but not very well on galvanized pipes. Keep expectations realistic and you will find a lot of uses for this helpful stuff.

This is basically duct tape for pipes. It is strong, easy to work with, and really seals cracks in pipes and joints. My kitchen sink needed to be "MacGyver-ed" because it was a modern sick over old pipes. It was necessary to get creative with the exhaust pipe but with this tape I was able to make it work. No leaks and no problems ever since. I keep it in the house with my screw drivers and hammer. It is a tool.

[Good]

Strong: For patching together anything plastic, this is perfect! I saved so much money patching up my breaking Macbook power adaptor, my iPhone USB cable, and even my Panasonic phone headset. So far I've saved over a hundred bucks with this product. The way it works is that it activates when you stretch it and attach it to itself (by wrapping). Eventually it will meld with itself. It's much better than electrical tape and duct tape for patching things like small cables, with a fit that is much tighter.

Cheap easy fix for garden hoses

UPDATE Plumbing: I previously mentioned that, "I don't understand why they are marketing this as a fix for pipes. Even on the packaging it states that it's only a 'Temporary' fix for any water leaks." I was wrong. I had a leaking PVC pipe. I tried some putty cement that helped, but didn't fix the problem. I then put on this silicone tape over the now dried putty cement. It's been over half a year now and that pipe still doesn't leak.

[Bad]

Color: Most of the plastic things that I patch are either black, white, or a shade of gray. I think it's really stupid not to have either black, white, or gray colored tape. It's even more retarded to include bright red, yellow, and blue tape, so instead blending in, this stuff really sticks out. It cheapens anything you use with it. I guess the color scheme makes sense if you use it with pipes to identify the patches. The color is so annoying in my opinion that it merits taking away 1 star.

Strong: The good part about using duct tape and electrical tape is that you can eventually remove it if you want. You may be able to do it with mighty fixit, but I imagine that it will be very difficult and you'll probably stand the risk of cutting the plastic that it's wrapped around.

[Summary]

Totally worth the money if you have any electronics with thin cables like Apple products, as well as non-critical PVC plumbing.

Very good job at stopping leaks. I used it in my kitchen on some pipes and i haven't seen a leak since. I would definitely recommend this item!

UPDATE: I initially gave this 5 stars because I had used it to stop a small leak and in the beginning it worked. However, it failed to work after a short while and the leak came right back. I am trying something else now!

This is my second purchase of this stuff. I have used it to repair a leaking p trap about a year ago, and it is still dry. I have also used this for electrical wrapping inside a low voltage device (5V Max). It works great. It is easily removed and leaves NO sticky residue like electrical tape. I also used this to cover the wooden handle of an ancient garden hoe. It makes it much easier on the hands than the original handle. I DO agree with the other reviewer about the colors. Black or grey would be a welcome change.
Overall I have been surprisingly pleased with this product's performance. I can see MANY different uses for this, and I plan to keep it on hand for future fixes and projects.

Had a leaking pipe. Slowed the leak to a trickle immediately. After 24 hours the leak stopped completely. Great product. Worth every penny.

I woke up one morning to the smell of heating oil all over the house. Apparently the oil line feed into the furnace had sprung a leak in the copper piping about the size of 5-10 pinholes all around 1 area of the pipe. I tried taping it up with all sorts of stuff around the house, putty, duct tape, plastic and duct tape, whatever I thought would work until I could replace that part of the pipe and while most alleviated the leak they didn't stop it completely.

Then my neighbor handed me this stuff to try out, and I was skeptical. I tried it anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find it work! I wiped off the area that was leaking, wrapped this tape around a few times, turned the feed line back on and no leaks at all for the 5 days I left it on. I don't know if this would've held the leak off if it was left on longer but it probably would have seeing as how nothing was coming out at all.

Now, what I hated about this tape was the color! It stands out like a sore thumb, but for temporary use it doesn't really matter, it could be an issue if you're planning to leave it on though. It is however, very easy to see where the tape is applied so you can find it quickly to properly fix anything that was patched.
