I first heard about the Nova series 122 brushes from Susan Harrison-Tustain, a New Zealand artist. On her wonderful DVDs she mentions using the brushes for "scrubbies" in watercolor. These are best for gentle lifting and especially for cleaning up edges. I know these brushes were intended for regular painting, but for me I only use them as scrubbies, and I love them.

My painting teacher has recommended these small brushes as tiny "scrubbers" to help to assist in dealing with hard edges that may develop during watercolor painting. They have to be used with just a very tiny amount of water for this purpose after the paper is bone dry. They do the job without lifting the paper.....A miracle brush for this purpose!

This is the worst brush I have ever bought. I thought it would be a good buy because it was a daVinci. I will never buy any of their products again. The brush is supposed to be a half rigger and it had so little synthetic bristles I will probably never be able to use it. I have seen a lot of brushes because I taught art for 13 years. It even cost more than the top of the line full rigger brush I bought which was a very good brush. I hate saying negative things about products, but in this case I had no choice.

Brush is of excellent quality, has a nice chisel edge, and a great low price tag. Listing says it normally sells for $63, and I can believe it. I've learned to never use cheap paint brushes. They make painting a real chore, render poor results and are discouraging.
As with everything you buy online, be sure to read the entire item description. There are so many products that are given a one or two star rating just because the buyer didn't bother to read the product description and was disappointed by what they received. Whose fault is that??
For instance, the photo for this item depicts 4 brushes, which is a little deceptive but if you read the information provided, you will realize the seller is selling just the one brush.
