I purchased these shoes in a size 8 for my schools production of A Chorus Line, and honestly I wanted to BURN them afterwords. The fit was fine, however the quality of the shoe is atrocious. Within 24 hours of owning them the black paint started to chip away to show the obvious brown underneath. The buckle also scrapes off the black paint on the strap. The heel was shorter than 2 and 1/2 inches.

Here's are the major problems though:
I rolled both of my ankles in them because they were so unstable. And believe me I have strong ankles, so it was a shock and quite frankly terrifying since I had to continue wearing them for the run of the show. Then during one of the matinees, the ankle strap just snapped off entirely. Luckily, I was backstage when it happened, but if it happened while I was onstage I could have hurt myself.

The only thing good I have to say about this shoe is that it makes your point look pretty good because of the flexible soles. But no where near worth it enough for the price and the quality. This makes me never want to buy a BLOCH shoe of any kind ever again.

Bought these to use for ballroom dancing and after two uses the suede footbed is coming off. Not what I would expect from a shoe that costs this much. Moderately comfortable, but feels kind of unstable because of the split design. Was trying to get used to it, but since the shoe is already coming apart I don't know if I will even have them long enough to break in. Also, the sizing for me was way off. I normally wear a 9, and I am snug in a size 10 in these. Could even have seen going up to a 10.5. They look fantastic, but the looks only get you so far.

Overall, not a shoe I will purchase again.

These shoes look so good and give you flex when dancing. I wore them for 7 weeks while doing musical theater shows in the summer. They look nice, but there are also down sides. The leather on the toes wore off pretty quickly. And it takes your feet a little bit of time to adjust to difference in arch support. After about 6 weeks of wear, the sole support in the shoe was sliding off and the plastic part of the heel fell off completely. I still love to dance in them, but they wore out pretty quickly. Overall, I like the shoe but I don't think it is worth the price.

To start, fit-wise, I ended up buying my normal street size 8.

These shoes look really cute and they are reasonably comfortable, but they are so poorly made it's awful. I bought these 6 months ago and by the end of the first musical I wore them for, a total of 2 months wearing them for about 3 hours max per day 3-5 days per week, they were already in horrible shape. The lining from the right footbed had completely come loose, the black leather has been totally scraped off the straps by the quick change buckle, the left strap doesn't fasten very well because its been scraped down, the plastic part of the heel on one shoe popped off during a show and I had to glue it back on, and I just noticed the sole on the right foot is peeling back near the toe and will need to be glued as well. In addition to all of these construction issues, I rolled on my ankle once wearing these and I think it's because they are just not all that supportive. Honestly I wish I had just put the $90 bucks towards some LaDucas instead of buying these. They are embarrassingly bad quality.

I've been wearing them for a few weeks now into my next show and I'm regretting buying these so much. I really wish I could return them because they are just in horrible shape for having had them for so little time. Not recommended if you want shoes that last more than one show.

I've been performing in Musical Theater shows professionally for 10 years, and this is my favorite shoe to wear. I do purchase my regular street shoe size in this shoe, even though many people recommend purchasing a half to a whole size larger. I originally purchased a half size larger, broke the shoe in, and now it has stretched to the point that I almost cannot wear them anymore. This is a fantastic shoe that works well for musicals, nights out dancing, or for a costume shoe. The split sole allows your foot and ankle total movement and control, the heel is the right height, and the strap is easily adjusted for fast costume/shoe changes. The nude is the only color I have used thus far, and the only problem I have is if the stage is painted black, it might come off on your shoe, depending on your movement. This is a more expensive character shoe, but I call it the poor man's LaDuca (a split sole character heel that costs upwards of $200). Great buy! If you dance, this is your shoe - and I have a wide foot for a dancer.

I purchased these Bloch Split Flex Character shoes for a show I was doing, and I have never had a pair of shoes fall apart like this! I received them 3 days before tech week, and after 3 rehearsals, the inside lining had started to peel and flake off. Since I HAD to have tan character shoes for the show, I had no choice but to keep them. The run of the show was only two weekends, and my dancing was VERY minimal, so I assumed they would at least stay together. At one point the sole on the bottom of my right shoe actually started coming off, almost causing me to trip and fall flat on my face on stage! The soles are cracking in the arches, the plastic lining on the inside of the heel is coming off, and the sole of the left shoe has started to come off as well. I have owned these shoes for only 3 weeks, and they are practically useless. I am attempting to return them for a full refund, and I will update this review when I get a response from the seller. There is NO reason that $80 character shoes should be falling apart like this after only 3 weeks!!
