This light is huge, it's a lot bigger than the heat lamp dome we have, but I like that there are options to clip to the side of the tank or hang. My turtle likes having this on him along with the heat lamp. The reflective surface makes it super bright, so hopefully it will help him while he's healing from secondary nutritional hypoparathyroidism that's made his shell start falling off and turning black.

Love Exo Terra Domes and lights the option to clap the light or hook the light up is great. The clap comes with the light. You can purchase a light holder to hang the light for 10 dollars. The metal hook comes with the dome light when you buy it. Personal I like the clap. It works perfect on my Exo terra terrariums.

The bigger dome makes a huge difference. I have a hood light, a 5" dome, and the 7" dome and this is twice as bright as either of the other lights... Will be converting all the lights to this dome for sure.

I dont have experience with many clamp lights but this one was not very intuitive. The clamp and the dome are separate pieces held together by another smaller clamp and tightened by a finger screw. To adjust the angle of the light you loosen the finger screw but if you loosen it just a little too much the whole thing will fall apart. In all I would not recommend this lamp if you're going to use it as a clamp light but it works very well in conjunction with the holding bracket [ http://amzn.com/B007D1BUJY ]. So if your going for that your golden.

I was looking for a dome to fit my reptisun 5.0 bulb and it fits perfectly. The mirror inside is great too. I've only had it for a few days, so I haven't really experienced any technical issues or anything. Also I keep mine sitting on top of a screen, so I haven't bothered with the clamps.

When they work, these are excellent lights--with or without the clamp. However, two of four recently purchased units have had faulty in-line switches due to poor contact within the switch housing. Thus, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. These are brand new lights. Completely unreliable as a result. Won't purchase again until Exo Terra fixes this problem, and I have notified their Customer Service folks.
