This was exactly what my mother was looking for in a dusting powder. Dusting powders are not prevalent in the stores so I was delighted to find exactly what Mom had requested - a lavendar scented dusting powder. It came quickly and efficiently and smells absolutely delightful (if you like the smell of lavendar). It came so fast, in fact, that I did not need to have it sent priority as Amazon said I did to reach me in time for Christmas (I had it over a week early).

Like the others reviewing this, I've had a hard time finding body powder other than baby powder or medicated powder in bottles. It's so much easier to apply with a puff. I don't know why it's out of style, especially in summer when it helps keep you dry and prevents chafing. Anyway, this is just what I was looking for. The scent is very light, just a hint of lavender, which is all I wanted. I don't like strong scents, and lavender just smells clean rather than perfumy to me. It's a light enough scent that even a male could probably wear it without being embarrassed if he wanted to control body moisture and couldn't find something unscented...it's sure better than smelling like a baby! This powder is fine enough that I can apply it before getting dressed in the morning without leaving white marks all over my clothes. It was also delivered very quickly.

I love the smell of lavender and bought this product based on the positive reviews here. So I was terribly disappointed to open the package and find a powder that smells nothing like lavender as I know it. I don't know how to describe what this smells like, but if you have ever purchased the wonderful lavender-scented products sold by Williams-Sonoma, IT SMELLS NOTHING LIKE THAT. It smells cloyingly sweet. I don't think your grandmother would like it either. She will smile and thank you politely, but once you leave, this will be something she packs away never to be used again. Trust me, I'm probably the same age as your grandmother and this stuff is headed for the trash.

I purchased this for my wife and was quite pleased as to the size of the container and the fact that it came with a powder puff that sits nicely in the upper half of the container. It's also nice that the powder is separated by fine holes to allow *some* powder to come out, but preventing a horrible accident, should the container be dropped on the floor while trying to figure out how to open it so I could smell it before she got home...or something like that.

Speaking of the scent - it's not the greatest lavender scent I've smelled, but it's not bad. Very mild - almost weak. But the powder is absorbent and helps keep my wife comfortable and dry all day. Which is what it's for anyhow.

By the way guys, you hold the lip at the bottom and pull the main part up - gently. That last word's the key I found out.

The price was awesome for the product. At first I was kinda bummed that it wasn't filled to the top but I see now that a little goes a long way and it's not filled to the top to accommodate the complimentary powder puff. The scent is light and after a while you don't really smell it anymore so it doesn't drive you crazy all day. Have brown skin the powder shows up quite a bit on my skin but if I apply it at night, in the morning I'm free of white blotches.

I received this item very quickly and it was packed very well. However, I was extremely disappointed in the size of the container. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter and I imagine she will use this up very quickly considering it's small size. The other thing I was disappointed about was that the container I received was not purple in color as shown on Amazon, but white, which doesn't sound like it would be a big deal, but my granddaughter loves the color purple and that was one of the reasons I selected this particular product. I can't speak to it's scent because it's a gift and won't be opened until Christmas, but I'm hoping it at least smells terrific.
